Nice strategy huh. Say that your own adopted Party sucks, then claim to want to be the head of that Party, AKA, the lead sucker.
Having a dead squirrel on your head sucks too, but once again, Ryand is all for that.
How about being a phony Libertarian that doesn’t have a shot in hell of ever being elected so you run as something that you aren’t so that you really, really never have a shot at being elected, that really sucks also too.
Ryand is selling the, Me and My Party Suck Ass, T-shirts on his website right now and if you buy two in the next 5 minutes, you get a squirrel pelt and some high heel boots for no extra charge.
No, fool, it’s not the “brand.” It’s the party’s embrace of hatred, racism, misogyny, and homophobia that sucks. That and the vicious mendacity and utter irresponsibility displayed by all its “leaders.”
Based on the metrics of conservative groups who measure such things, Rand Paul consistently ranks as one of the most conservative members of congress, but he makes enough iconoclastic statements to be considered different.
It frequently seems he is running for President, but not actually for the Republican nomination, however, I don’t see him going “third party” should he fail to get it. Like a lot of his supporters, he thinks the party will eventually come around to his way of thinking, rather than the other way around.
That was all fine, but when you get into the economics, he is wingnut extreme. He had a lot of good things to say in that interview. Especially the Kurds and Turkey working out a peace…
Sorry Aqua Buddah, but the brand, the party, the policies and the leadership all suck.
Also the GOTP’s continued policies of hating the poor, ass-kissing the rich, hating minorities, sucking up to bigots, continued support for the death penalty, unrestricted ownership of guns and unlimited campaign spending and the conservative Republican view that the United States has nothing to learn from countries like France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, New Zealand and Australia does add up to the GOTP sucking on a colossal level.
“No, no!” Paul said, smiling. “I said our brand sucks.”
At which point Mathews said “… well, then why don’t you switch sides and run as a Democrat?” Paul responded by saying, “No, the Democrats are much too smart for that. It would never fly.”
