Discussion: Rand Paul Says He Would Oppose Giuliani, Bolton For Secretary Of State

Difficult to believe, but Rand Paul is right. Bolton was a non-reasoning super hawk, and was often best at alienating even our allies. Giuliani would have the respect of no one but himself. You need a real professional at this post.

It will be interesting to see just how much support Trump has in the senate. He seems to have pissed off quite a few influential senate republicans during the election. These look to be fairly easy nominations to oppose.

You said 4 outta 5 would prefer Putin over Cameron, yet ya haven’t come with a link.

You stated that the majority of the EU finds Putin admirable, but im still wondering which 3 countries.

You are clearly far more educated than me, so i await ya answer to both

Wow, Paul warning against a neo hawk unilateral Sec of State…like himself…didnt see that coming…

o…those questions…lol…very new here and figuring these things out isnt my thing…the kids actually make fun of me…anyways…the first one was from the guardian…and the second…comes from various bloggers and newspapers that i read/have read…though i dont think i used the word majority…since…i allow for propaganda…but i stand by that Putin enjoys much more support than the people living in the land of propaganda realize.
as far as education…NOTHING we are discussing here is dependent on education…letters behind ones name…does not insure anything.
cheer up!..all is not lost!..lol

Rand Paul:
ā€œWe don’t need, as our chief diplomat, someone whose idea of diplomacy is dropping bombs.ā€

DJ Trump:
ā€œI will quickly and decisively bomb the hell out of ISIS, will rebuild our military and make it so strong no-one – and I mean, no one – will mess with us.ā€
ā€œI would bomb the s*** out of them.ā€

Yesterday, Trump and Putin discussed Syria. Today, Russia’s bombing the hell out of Aleppo.

Well the House leadership seems to be on board the Tump Train, so will the Senate buy a ticket?

So ya have no basis for your claims.

All you are basing this belief on is faith, right?

Honestly, I seriously doubt there is any position he could offer Paul that he would want. He just won his 2nd term, so he is good for 6 more years. And, in the Senate, given his ā€œoutside the mainstream republican group thinkā€ on many issues, will be well positioned to raise his stature for a run in 2024.

There is no Deputy whatever or Undersecretary of whatever that would even come close the soap box he know has.

ā€œIt’s important that someone who was an unrepentant advocate for the Iraq War, who didn’t learn the lessons of the Iraq War, shouldn’t be the secretary of state for a president who says Iraq was a big lesson,ā€ Paul told the Washington Post in a Tuesday interview. ā€œTrump said that a thousand times."

So, Senator Paul wants Trump to be honest and intellectually consistent. There goes Trump’s entire business model down the shitter.

Rand Paul grabs a lot of headlines saying a lot of things he never actually follows through on, so we’ll see.

Of course he’s right and both Giuliani and Bolton are batshit crazy to boot.

This position is consistent with his views on US foreign policy, and I certainly agree that a neo-con should not be secretary of state. Progressives have been saying a million times that Clinton is a neo-con and they would oppose her on those grounds. So this position from Rand Paul should come as good news. It is to me.
