As much of a dick as Ted Cruz is, I sincerely believe that he is more to be pitied than scorned.
Some parents do all they can to ensure that their kids act like assholes, and the elder Rafael Cruz is apparently one of them. His poor son has more daddy issues than a gay porn mag.
US Senators have the best (and if necessary, most discrete) health care in the world. The kindest thing I can wish for Senator Cruz is that he can somehow carve himself enough personal space to make use of it, and find a good therapist–one who doesn’t think his problems can be fixed with prayer.
