In 2015, Russia increased its defense spending in rubles by 7.5 percent. However, the falling oil prices and the national currency’s collapse against the dollar have squeezed Moscow out of the top three slots on the SIPRI rating of military spenders: the Stockholm institute calculates defense spending in dollars.

I get the feeling that the discussions between Putin and Trump are like the head of one crime-family discussing cutting up the world with the head of another crime-family. And that’s what it’s come to. A vastly successful crime lord ruling a broken superpower is bringing another of his kind onto the world stage, making back-room deals, cutting up all traditions, norms and laws that could ever find them guilty. Kleptocrats with nukes.
Looking at the reports from TPM and elsewhere, it truly seems like a global criminal conspiracy wherein the biggest criminals are succeeding at capturing governments everywhere.
