Discussion: Publisher Of Report On Secret Service Agent: USSS Trying To 'Discredit' My Report

Discussion for article #228550

Joy rides? Staffers divulging the schedule of the POTUS? Sounds like a “SNAFU” to me.
I would hope there would be a top to bottom review of the SS. On NPR this morning I heard a description of the life of an agent who works the Presidential detail. He described days w/o food or sleep coupled with hours of boredom. Why the interviewer did not comment that what he described is a recipe for disaster is beyond me.

“Author Of Secret Service Romney Report Fumes Over Efforts To ‘Discredit’ Him.”

Just being Romney’s communications director, in and of itself, is enough to discredit anyone.

Lemme get this straight:

When it comes to Obama’s security details, the SS has been all “yep, we fucked up
totally screwing everything up and leaving him unsafe
get rid of our female boss please!”

When it comes to the Romney detail, they won’t admit a thing.

I’d like to know the general psychological profile and party affiliation of the types who end up SS agents.

I’d be more impressed with McCoy if he blew the whistle then instead of waiting a couple of years later.
Not that I’m not inclined to believe the Secret Service acted shitty like this but one would at least believe he is not doing it now for the publicity, attention and notoriety.

Lets the psychological profile is not the same as that of members of a German security service that also used the SS initials.

Not sure what you’re getting at. Nothing I said was intended to invoke Godwin’s Law.

Ummm
who really cares, anyway? It’s a non-story by a hack who is trying to increase hits on his website. Someone at TPM noted that “the silly season” had descended upon the campaign season. I’d say, based on the big deal that is apparently being made about this, that “the silly season” has not only descended on the campaign season, it has hit Warp Factor 9.5!

Someone crossed a bright line. Let’s see how this falls out.

I don’t know definitely what the truth is here, but considering that no one is corroborating McCoy’s story, not even people from the Romney campaign, I have to lean towards the idea that McCoy made the whole thing up.

Consider the publishing sources and timing of this recent spate of SS scandals: The [new] Washington Postand The Washington Examiner in the few weeks prior to an election. (The WP’s big exposĂ© of the White House shooting investigation occurred three years ago, but just now reported on!)

Consider how other righter-wing media are making use of these “scandal coverups” to broaden it’s ongoing, general attack on the “truthyness” of anything the Obama administration says or does about the economy, Ebola, “Obamascare”, ISIS, Benghazi, etc.

With only four weeks until the election, there is no time to independently follow this particular money trail; the only thing is to GOTV to preserve the Democrats’ Senate majority. Then perhaps Harry Reid can pass a bill to unmask the big donors to nonprofit political “education” organizations.
