I really wonder if the people of Texas are as stupid as they appear to the rest of the country. I grew up in Texas, went to school there when their school systems actually taught real stuff. So I know a few things. Like the constitution, and how congress is supposed to work. But then I’m old.
There’s the stupidity angle, or is it total voter suppression? SOMETHING has to explain the tenures of these recent know-nothing governors.
Under indictment for threatening elected officials, Perry threatens grand jurors. That’s great. Judges love that type of behavior from criminal defendants.
I know exactly what you mean. I’m old too - grew up in the other fascist state: Indiana, home of the KKK and John Birch Society. What we get for “leaders” these days would be hilarious were it not so tragic for all of We the People. How did this happen? I find almost no one to respect anymore in our federal government. And Texas is the breeding ground for these arrogant vapid dolts like Perry. Something is very wrong with this nation’s government now.
The governor of Texas is the least powerful governor in the United States. The Lt. Governor has all the power. I wish Wendy had run for Lt. Governor. Guess the title of Governor means more than wanting actual power.
I remember a prosecutor I got to know (sold his office computer equipment years ago) told me threatening a grand jury that just indicted you - in any state - is taken very seriously by prosecutors. Yea, Texas is Texas but I’m hoping Perry gets squeezed real good.
I don’t think “criminal organization” can be said to be “legitimate”, perhaps just recognized as criminal enterprises where threats would be expected. But even someone as notorious as John Gotti never threatened, he just acted decisively. Hyman Roth would call perky small potatoes.
I find this entire situation to be absolutely ridiculous…but I would say to this pos governor “Bitch if you have nothing to hide put your butt on that stand and tell the truth!” Problem is pos is guilty of charges.
