I don’t understand how the Post cannot sue him for ‘theft of services’ because their reporters wasted their (the corporate WaPo) time investigating this story.

I do question his perception in that statement a little bit. I see him more as a grifter than a true believer. Without a sense of ethics and morality, he is likely apolitical and simply a weaselly opportunist. So much of the right wing come off like that. They have a base that can be twirled around on their little fingers. If the liberal side of the equation was like that, they would swing their labors that way in a flash. Just look at their §resident, same attitude.
A bit off the path of this comment, but a lot of people predicted that Trump would quit because it was no longer fun or interesting. He doesn’t really give a damn about the politics and actual leadership, it is all what is good for him. I suspect the only reason he has not left at this point is he has snarled things up so badly for himself and family that doing so would strip him of protections and tools he has currently in office.

People know that O’Keefe is dishonest, but they want the media and true journalist to be discredited, so they don’t care about his dishonesty.
People know that Roy Moore is a child molester but they want someone in the Senate who will appoint another Supreme Court judge who will outlaw abortion, so they dismiss and deny Moore’s amorality.
People know that Trump is a freaking liar but they want liberals to cry, and they want blacks and Muslim people to be less than they are, so his lies do not matter to them.
I am also worried about this means for our future.

Has anyone considered that perhaps Moore did impregnate a 15 year old and that she did have an abortion – and that this false case is a cover so that if the true version ever comes to be known no one will believe it? That is the sort of thing that Rove would do.
He’s not clever enough to mask his cowardice with a phony dismissive tone. He’s not above it all. He’s afraid.
