Power Point is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

Power Point always wins hearts and minds. Use the sound and visual effects, Paul! Everyone loves those.

They always think the problem is just a “marketing” or “messaging” problem.

What a tool.

“This is the closest we will ever get to repealing and replacing Obamacare,” he said.

If only.

You lost this battle already.

That is what this whole exercise is about, dump a popular and successful program to get back at the black guy?

Not to offer a better program? Not to improve the health of Americans? Not to stabilize an inflationary job-killing system?

Instead of being distant and “professorial”, Ryan ought to reach out more to Democrats. Maybe have them over for cocktails.

Gives the phrase “Death by Powerpoint” a whole new meaning.

folksy but wonky

Please. Such a description gives actual wonks (people who have in depth knowledge of technical information) a bad name. Paul Ryan isn’t a wonk, no matter how hard he tries to imitate one, and no matter how much fluffing he gets from the media for that pretension.

The really truly sd story in all of this…how inept and weak Obama, Hillary, and the Democrats have been over the last 8 to 9 years! It is the only reason that Paul Ryan, Mike Pence, Donald Trump, and Mitch McConnell have such a strangle hold on power in the US.

Sadly, the Democrats haven’t learned from the Hillary collapse and disaster. Character based criticism has its place but the people want jobs and policies that actually work for them. Example: when coal collapses for many good reasons including pollution, the Democrats did nothing about creating jobs for the displaced coal mining families…they basically played right into Donald Trump’s empty rhetoric hands.

If the Democrats don’t hurry up and wake up…the Republicans will hold the House, the Senate, the White House, and every state capital across the land.

Exactly. “They’re not buying our snake oil. We need a more colorful label!”

You called your elected officials yet to object to this replacement, or is your “activism” confined to lecturing Dems on discussion boards?

He’s ‘CLUELESS’. For years Paul Ryan’s budget has been soundly REJECTED. He just doesn’t get it it. What made him think that HE could design a replacement for Obama’s ACA. He’s incompetent as well as the rest of the Republicans im Congress.

Worst Congress in History…it was BAD before Ryan took over as their CLUELESS leader and now t’s worse.

INCOMPETENT PAUL RYAN.

Though it terrifies me that they might actually be successful in destroying the health care sector with their “beautiful” plan I’m glad that we’re finally seeing how thoroughly full of crap the GOP is. They have made repeal and replace a cottage industry and they never had anything to replace it with. At least they are exposed for everyone to see.

ACHA actually stands for Affordable Care? HA.

Greg Dworkin nailed it yesterday; this is the TrumpDoesn’tCare Plan. Meme, meme, meme hashtag, hashtag, hastag . . .

I thought that remark had a ring of desperation to it. Ryan knows this isn’t going anywhere but was appealing to reluctant GOPers with the plea that it’s their last chance to appease their conservative voters and keep their seats.
