It does affect green card holders going backwards. So I would advise those going backwards to wear their hats backwards to appear as if they are going forward.

Judging from Priebusâs quotes this morning (canât bear to actually watch him): âapologize for nothingâ, berating Chuck Todd rather aggressively for his own mistake, certainly seems like someoneâs sowing his oats.

The whole thing is procedural when it comes to how those with green cards will processed, and in what order, by those put in charge. Therefore, the implementation becomes arbitrarily decided, which is why this initial EO becomes so dangerous, and so prone to the procedural abuse. There are no guidelines outlined in Trumpâs EO since the motherfucker never coordinated with agencies that have to carry this out, or made any serious effort to get guidance from those who have to implement this mess.

Priebus is in a tough spot â canât admit banning Green Card holders was a major fuck-up, so he just says it wonât affect Green Card holders âgoing forwardâ and says nothing about what happened to them yesterday, and what his own administration was saying about it then. Because to discuss that, he would either have to admit they screwed up by including Green Card holders, or he would have to try to argue that they totally meant to cause a one-day ban on Green Card holders but had planned all along to lift that ban by today â which is not even remotely plausible. It was a huge overreach, and he knows it. But I guess he has to try to spin it as best he can.
Meanwhile, the text of the Executive Order does cover Green Card holders, so unless they issue a new one that doesnât, all heâs really saying is that they wonât be enforcing that part of the orderâŚunless, of course, they change their minds again.
Complete, utter bullshit. I hope the courts hand them a yuuuuuuuuuuge, embarrassing defeat on this. And then I just hope they actually follow the court rulings â because if they donât, then weâre really on the fast-track to dictatorship.

Doubt it lasts that long. I posted a few days ago - âItâs going to be a long six months until the impeachmentâ but Iâm now willing to give odds that itâs going to be less than that.
