Watch as plenty of the media are more than complicit in helping that Drumpf “pivot”, as they help to try to put his racism, bigotry and misogyny in the closet just so they can bash Clinton. Wolf Blitzer and Andrea Mitchell are already getting in line. It’s a “four-fer” for them: Helping to bash Clinton, helping their personal finances (they are one-percenters), helping their GOP buddies, and doing all they can to try to make it a close race.
Well if you saw any of NBC’s pander cast from Trump Tower yesterday it seems some already are.
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus says that he’s personally doubtful that Donald Trump will be unseated as the presumptive nominee at the convention in Cleveland, but "nothing is impossible.…but highly highly unlikely."
Priebus says that he’s comfortable with Trump as the nominee as he has worked with him extensively behind the scenes, but he does say he believes Trump will soften his tone and pivot to general election mode.
“The person you saw on Tuesday night was the person I got used to dealing with on the telephone and in person,” Priebus says. “That general election approach is the type of approach I have been dealing with.”
after awhile, asking the same questions won’t really get any satisfactory answers. Unless there is a negative consequence delivered to Preibus and his lot.
I’m thinking that the media can only do so much to prop up this candidate to ensure a ratings-boosting horse race. After watching his performance yesterday- Cinco de mayo hispandering fail, Ryan brushoff, response to Ryan brushoff- combined with Clinton’s rapid response and well-produced ads using Trump and other Republican’s own words, he could be irreversibly defined by Cleveland. He’s wholly undisciplined and he’s going to lash out with so much vitriol at those in his own party who don’t warm to him that there will be minimal reconciliation before the fall. I see this being the scenario playing out rather than Trump finding message and temperamental discipline and becoming even passable on policy issues. It’ll be ugly but I think he drags his party down before he drags down HRC.
But anything can happen…
They’re deserving of everything they’re going to get this cycle. They’ve been sowing the seeds of what they’re about to reap for 50 years.

And the party of personal responsibility strikes again.

That “general election” mode isn’t going to sway a single voter who isn’t already for Trump. The opposition will just keep playing Trump’s hateful rhetoric he spewed during the primary. And there is no way Trump will be able to keep himself from adding fuel to that fire during the general. He can’t help himself.
Here’s hoping. How many low-information voters are there who distrust stuff from mainstream sources. Or closet misogynists. People can convince themselves of remarkable things if it makes them more comfortable.
And he added, I’m am so looking forward to this years post mortem when we get our ass handed to us again.
We will once again tell you how we need to be more inclusive …a big tent kind of party.
If only we could stop the primary voters from electing crazy old men, corporatist magic underwear wearing Mormons or racist demigods and elect a true conservative , we could win elections again.

Trump will need to project that "softened, more Presidential" image to those working in close proximity and the donors and establishment figures he needs to enlist in his campaign. However, he also will be required to tour the nation continually making campaign speeches to voters. Those voters will suffer extreme cognitive dissonance if the Trump they see and hear in August is radically different than the one they listened to in February. They may smell a sell-out. They'll wonder if he's as committed to the radical changes and approach to governing he previously promised. It'll do Trump little good to cultivate a more reserved, sober, deliberative image with insiders and donors if he's still providing the opposition with oppo fodder via his public speeches, should he revert to his usual hyperbolic antics we've grown accustomed to.Just watch his rallies … they will be yelling for walls to keep those Mexican rapists out and screaming how he needs to keep the mooslims out. It’s the only shtick he’s got. Trump has painted himself into a racist corner by not even beginning to grasp the mechanics of national polititics
I agree, but nevertheless a great many infuential people are going to insist as a condition of support and giving money he figure out a way to finesse at least a modicum of conversion in his presentation and rhetoric. If you have millions to spare to give to a party you probably earned it in the business world. You have Hispanic, women, gay, black and Muslim employees, investors and customers. You can’t be summarily dismissive of your need for their continued loyalty to your business and your interests. Hence the numbers of people you see running from the current taint Trump represents.
I almost feel sorry for Priebus… He has the hardest job in America at the moment.
Don’t get me wrong. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy, but I seriously expect, hope even, that he’s drunk like, all of the time.
Nothing is impossible, but I’m speaking hypothetically, of course. Ya know, like “can God microwave a HotPocket hotter than God can eat?” Like that.
