Wait wait wait.
I need to move $$$$$$$$$$ to the new opportunity created by these warmongers…
Worth the risk. Not really
Does Trump think he’s fooling anyone?
It shows that kissing up to Trump has its advantages if one seeks advancement over the fallen bodies of one’s comrades. The question is, of course, how long he can continue to ingratiate himself with the orange menace when any deviation from the “Trump Agenda” is viewed as treason (or at the least, “an attack on our country”).
One thing is sure though: With the triumvirate of Trump, Bolton, and Pompeo, Iran is toast.
Seems reasonable. This seems reasonable:
- He went in person to the White House to brief Trump. Hey, Trump can’t read and loses interest after a few minutes. Doesn’t it make sense to go to the briefing in person to at least see what he’s NOT paying attention to?
- He talked with prior SOS, including Clinton. Dems would call this “doing his homework.”
3, Reportedly boning up on world affairs and the State Department. Dems would call this “doing his homework,” - He claims his military service lean him away from war.
- He counters Trump’s “America First” with “America must lead” verbiage.
Has he been a horrible, partisan, Trump-loving GOP hack? Yes. Will he be going forward? Probably, but the content of the article give hope.
The recorder should just write down, “blah, blah, blah…”, because what Pompeo says will be totally irrelevant to what Trump doesn’t do.
I know you know that Trump doesn’t have an agenda, and that’s the problem. Pompeo is saying relatively sane things now but how much of Trump enabler will he be?
I confess to a certain amount of hyperbole. That’s why I put “Trump Agenda” in quotes. But people like Sarah Hucklebee Sanders and various Republican congresscritters constantly talk about “implementing the Trump Agenda” as if there actually were one. I don’t think it’s possible to consider chaos an agenda. Trump has no agenda beyond self-enrichment and self-aggrandizement. Anything else he does is pure whimsy – as the mood strikes him.
the words Pompeo uses are consistent with previous foreign policy positions that the US has taken with regard to russia and the world (for whatever reason that he would use them, true or not).
makes one wonder when putin will fully regret his actions re: 2016 election, because if he is going to end up in the same place as he would have anyway in a foreign policy sense, and has likely set himself and russia up for an epic counter punch re: sanctions and who knows what else from the CIA et al, what was all the trouble worth?
best laid plans and all…
It may feel like years, Mike, but … really, it’s only been 15 months.
Oh, look everyone! Traitor Donald has found a beard for his Putin love.
At least now we have a Manchurian Connection to complement our Muscovite Candidate.
