Discussion for article #245340
These polls aren’t telling us who voters’ second and third choices are. Candidates have to reach 15% threshold or else their voters have to choose someone else.
Trump is a buffoon who would make a terrible president, but Cruz is downright terrifying. A bad election day for Cruz is a good day for America.
I know what will happen on the Republican side: someone horrifying will come in first, and someone horrifying will come in second. The names are less clear. (Paul Krugman).
Very interesting. So what you’re saying is that if Rubio under performs and comes in at 14‰, then his voters will have to back another candidate between Trump and Cruz? Or, I guess voters for Jeb!, Kasich, Carson, etc. could push Rubio or some other candidate far enough ahead to count?
Trump: There is no way a Canadian is going to beat a patriot American like me.
That’s my understanding – 15% of the attendee is the viability threshold.
Prediction: as he sinks further and further in the polls, Cruz will become more and more spiteful and shrill, trying to run his cheapjack “champion debater” riff w/out success. I’m going to really enjoy his comprehensive public humiliation.
When not even one fellow senator will stick their head out to support you, there is a serious problem. My body has an involuntary, visceral reaction when he’s on the news and not in an good way. When his policies concerning women’s issues and especially his willingness to let HIS religious beliefs guide his decisions instead of the Constitution, his numbers will drop to Jeb level.
A Republican President in the WH…well that’s a BIG RED CHERRY at top a Republican controlled Congress and Senate…HERE’S what that means to YOU…
