Discussion for article #231988
I’m sure Christie’s numbers will pick up when the indictments are handed down. (snark).
No doubt his support among ‘rock-ribbed GOP leaning NY Giants fans’ has plummeted dramatically since his excessive PDA in the Dallas Cowboys owner’s box.
Some of his recent actions — such as a veto of a bill popular in New
Jersey but disliked in Iowa, and a trip to Mexico last year — may be
perceived by voters as attempts to boost his presidential prospects.
And all the while the Atlantic City casino boardwalk just kind of faded away along with many of the jobs that went with it. That wasn’t Christie’s fault but he didn’t seem to be giving a lot of attention to the event either.

Clearly, he’s become less buoyant as he’s lost weight.
Joke all you want. Done right, he could leverage indictments as a badge of honor with the GOP/Teatroll base.
How does this guy seriously consider running for President? He wouldn’t even win New Jersey.
Love that picture. Captures the meaning of your question well.
Of course, he’s lost 30-40 pounds since then, eh?
Or as they say in Joisey, “sleeps with the fishes.”
It’s been know for a while that his popularity in NJ is nearly nonexistent mainly because he’s never there doing governor-like things, and in fact in presidential favorite races, NJ much prefers HRC. As to his weight you gotta give him props for losing however much he has. But he still retains the mean spirited part of him.
And their kids are fat too!! Surprise, surprise
But they elected and re-elected him so more people liked him than not
Yep, when a GOPer gets in trouble the reaction is almost always to blame liberals and the MSM. It doesn’t matter the charges or what the evidence shows, they circle the wagons, and that person becomes even more popular within the party. The base will just claim it was all a set up by the Clintons and Obama with Holder once again using the DOJ to punish political opponents.
But I thought the bridge was ABOVE the water.
Might as well dig into that triple layer chocolate cake, Christie.
Both of Christie’s NJ Gov wins rank as the two lowest turnouts of NJ Gov-contest elections ever. So his popularity was never all that overwhelming. He’s the governor apathy wrought.
Those manboobs look like about a 54 D—and he could definitely use a good bra.
Would be classy to keep the kids out of it. They didn’t pick their parents.
The surprise isn’t that he’s unpopular. The surprise is that, in a state that seems to delight in hating the people it elects (Kentucky is like that, too) he was once popularish.
