It was amazing - and disgusting - watching MSNBc’s law enforcement and profiling “experts” drone on and on about learning to identify the mentally disturbed and recognizing the warning signs and developing better profiling tools, etc. They never once mentioned the simplest and most likely to be effective short-term solution, i.e., limiting access to guns and ammo.

Wouldn’t that be about as feasible as saying “Everybody make sure Jimmy Wayne Fremont is denied access to a can of Pepsi!”? Short of jailing the certifiable nutjobs how do you deny crazy people access to guns when about the only place they aren’t available is a drug store vending machine?
As an aside, I predict one day guns and ammo will be available via public vending machines. Sounds crazy, right? That’s exactly why it’ll happen. Because one day a GOP Prez, combined with a GOP Congress, will make such insanity possible.
