Discussion: Police: Ex-Husband Also Accused GOP Candidate Of 'Ongoing Harassment'

I hope none of her ex’s owns a rabbit.

I want to be considered for the job of headline writer when TPM considers getting a new and better one.

Sounds like the perfect GOP candidate. I’m sure they prefer their sociopaths ready-made.

I’m having trouble with a number of the comments here that appear to be misogynistic at best, and descending to outright offensive at times.

True, I was in the right mood but with her it would have been the wrong time.

Feel free to flag. The comments about urine samples are probably nothing you are familiar with. Perhaps read the link that 538 provided above.

Misogyny, on the other hand, has no place in any discussion of any political stripe.

I’m a 56 year old native Oregonian. There is no more schizophrenic place. Do not be surprised by anything you see…

That doesn’t fix it. It works for the one sentence, sure, but doesn’t jibe with the rest of the article.

There are two police reports mentioned in this article filed against Dr. Wehby. One is from the former boyfriend who accused her of “stalking” him, and the other, described here as the “Grant police report,” was filed in 2007 by ex-husband Jim Grant. That report reads: “Jim said they are currently in a divorce situation and is tired of the ongoing harassment by his wife.”

Nowhere is there a quote in which Monica accuses Jim of “ongoing harassment,” so your fix – adding “husband” after “her” in the convoluted first paragraph – makes no sense. If the lede were changed to passive voice, it would become clearer, to wit:

Republican Senate candidate Dr. Monica Wehby was accused of “ongoing harassment” by her former husband in a Portland police report filed during their divorce in 2007, according to The Oregonian.

As a 50+ year native resident of Oregon, I say speak for yourself.

Oregon is no worse than anywhere else, and a hell of a lot better than most. Monacle rated Portland, Oregon, the 23rd most livable city in the entire world, in 2013. Chew on that a while.

As it turns out, she did not accuse anyone. The rest of the article makes it clear that two police reports were filed AGAINST Dr. Wehby, and the “ongoing harassment” quote was actually spoken by her ex-husband – about Dr. Wehby – in a 2007 report that was part of their divorce proceedings.

The first line of the lede should have been: Republican Senate candidate Dr. Monica Wehby was accused of “ongoing harassment” by her former husband in a Portland police report filed during their divorce in 2007, according to The Oregonian.

THAT would have cleared the whole thing up.

LOL! I thought you guys were fucking around, but Rachel led with this ridiculousness tonight – Wehby and Robinson both! Apparently there are hedge-fund managers in NY who don’t like Peter DeFazio, so they’ve been throwing money at these psychos in the last two cycles. Is DeFazio on the House Banking Committee or something?

I might be alone here, but I might have a grain of salt about a spouse, in the middle of a divorce dispute, filing a complaint about being hit with a pad of paper.

Not saying that I’d ever support her, but I’m not ready to paint her a psycho yet because her ex is mad about their divorce and any settlements.

Nope…we were serious about the urine sample request thing.

Don’t know if DeFazio is on the Banking Committee but he is hated by the Baggers and Blue Dogs alike for cutting to the quick and being very direct. Pete’s committees he’s not one to play games.

Art Robinson is bat guano bananas. He mailed everyone in my district a paperback book-thick crazy manifesto, has endorsed spreading nuclear waste evenly around the entire Earth to dispose of it safely and promote healthy human mutation… I shit you not! Conservative PACs showered Robinson in campaign funds to the extent that Interstate 5 was lined North and South with triple-decker campaign signs complete with patriotic bunting and multiple tiers of American flags. Dozens of them cutting through the middle of Oregon’s farm country. It was a spectacle to see, but he still lost big time.

True. I live in Orygun and while this is interesting it;s far less interesting than her relationship with the Stimson Lumber exec who, although they have broken up, still finacially supports her campaign.

Many ways I still love you but stay the f*#k away from me

And then there is her support from Loren Parks, Oregon’s equivalent of Darth Cheney and The emperor from Star Wars. one

and two

And now he’s supposed to win a STATEWIDE office? ROTFLMSWAO! It’d be worth it just for the debate footage! Richard Mourdock, watch out!

What’s a “bitch-face”?

You’re not alone.

But then, maybe it’s because I don’t understand the subtlety of “She’s a bitch face” commentary here at TPM.

You’d do her?

That makes you…awesome, I guess. A legend in your own mind.

bitch face
Any person whose face makes them seem like they’re a bitch.
Person A: @*$!3Y looks like such a bitch.
Person B: No, shes not. Her face just looks like that, she has a bitch face. Shes actually really nice.
