There are a lot of people out there (many of them Trump backers) who are threatened by their increasing inability to look down on “others” - gays, Hispanics, blacks, Muslims, whatever. In a less gun-laden society, these people would be a problem. In this society, they’re a deadly menace.

It is “lone wolf” attacks that ISIS is encouraging against “infidels in the West.”
Be that as it may…from what little we know, the Orlando shooter seems to have been more unstable than religious.
As for this person, well, no details have been released yet.
In that those types of weapons would be a logical choice to inflict mass casualties, I suppose that’s true. But I’m not sure there would be a connection beyond that.
Need to wait and see what more information is released.
Exactly! How are we supposed to know how to react if we don’t know the race, religion, or ethnicity of the suspect?

However, my point was there are some dots that do align, both had large rifles and high powered ammo and explosives. In addition both were partaking in gay parades but at different venues. But beyond those points, there has been no connections confirmed as of yet.

Reports now the guy was named James Howell, and he’s from Indiana. Sounds to my ear like a Real American from Real America.
Very well could be ISIS-related, or at least inspired.
But even though ISIS has now taken credit for this attack, that has not yet been confirmed, and could be just a propaganda and recruitment ploy to make themselves appear all-powerful.
But that’s not the reality on the ground.
Our coalition forces recently have almost completely closed up the Syria-Turkey border that was used to smuggle recruits and materiel to ISIS. That effort is expected to choke off a key supply line.
In Iraq, our coalition forces are taking back villages around Mosul and Fallujah, and an all-out attack to take these two cities is expected later this year as tanks and armored personnel begin massing around these strongholds.
It’s said that our coalition has retaken almost half of ISIS’s territory in Iraq and about 30 percent in Syria.
We are winning. ISIS’s days are numbered, and they are in the late stages of lashing out.
