Discussion for article #239132
Great photos. Thanks. I don’t think the United States has come to terms and really had a true soul searching over this. IIRC, we were taught in school that it was necessary to win the war but if you actually showed students the effects on human lives and all the hideous destruction, then maybe we wouldn’t “accept” it. It is unacceptable to my mind to have done this.
Show the Japanese and American students this:

They slaughtered 20 million other Chinese civilians, also. Until every Japanese knows the history of the war, our people shouldn’t even show up for that ceremony!
Considering what they pulled on us and the rest of the region, Japan had it coming.
Nanking alone was a horrible massacre, but this was only one of a number of atrocities in Asia. Comfort women, treatment of civilian and military prisoners, unprovoked attack on Pearl Harbor. I have no sympathy for the Japanese. The Chinese and Koreans do not criticize the US on HIroshima Day.
