Discussion: 'Pharma Bro' Bail Revoked After Social Media Post Threatening Hillary Clinton

The way the NY Post described the hearing reminded me of Littlefinger’s downfall on Game of Thrones, basically forced to beg for mercy from a powerful woman who has had enough of his petty, puerile bullshit.

That is the thing about Shkreli; it’s not just that he’s evil and obnoxious it’s that he is monumentally DUMB. The fact he never understood about the investment scene is that most people are low key; they keep things under the radar and if they get caught they act humble, do their time, and either quietly retire or go back to the scene due to the connections they had. Shkreli did the exact opposite. Right after his conviction he started bragging about how he wasn’t going to a serious jail, how his sentence wasn’t going to be hard, and went right back to harassing people to boost his tender ego. That kind of behavior is stupid because a judge WILL take that into account during sentencing.

So, for anyone worrying about him getting off lightly, that ship has SAILED. This latest stunt has guaranteed that Matsumoto will make an example out of him, probably throwing the maximum sentence at him. Him being bored out of his mind for the next twenty years is the most fitting punishment for him

Shkreli’s blatant lack of remorse will certainly count for something, and his utter contempt for the judicial process won’t go over well with any court that hears his appeal.

Judges are impartial, but even the best of them aren’t machines.

Especially the best of them.

Absolutely this guy is eligible for at least the maximum under the guidelines. I don’t know where that would fall relative to the absolute range. Unless they’re close, I wouldn’t go flat-out max. But the envelope can be stretched a bit with careful findings.
