Of course, Putin will spin this as an example of how the whole world is against Mother Russia and only he can bring the country back to prominence. He looks and acts like a Cold War James Bond villain.

The title should be “Pretty much every country hates and fears Russia”.

For good reason.

I have been involved with Russians all my life, as colleagues, as teachers. I was in the USSR (in 1965) and my family was taught that the USSR was the “worker’s paradise”, which turned out to be a total delusion.

I am sick of the Russians. Their main talent seems to be to make themselves and everyone around them as miserable as possible. Czars, First Secretaries, Presidents for Life … it is the same dismal story over and over again.
