Discussion for article #223884
Well, I guess the knife marks in Boehner’s back will be a lot higher now…
BTW Is it me, or does it look like all McCarthy’s seeing in that picture is a continuous line of ones and zeros?
Wow. I guess that means they had photos.
I thought for sure it was going to be Virginia Foxx.
The GOP is scared shitless the Teahaddist crowd will crash the mid terms. McCarthy is a big ag, big oil sump pump.
McCarthy? Talk about a dummy.
Virginia Foxx has tea party vice presidential pick written all over her.
Backseat driving ball-washing…blowhard…baggers. {I know…ew!}
Kevin Spacey couldn’t have locked up the job faster. Good job.
Man that was a rough night last night.
So our texas republican party is finally crumbling. the texas republican party is forced to kiss the tea party’s ass. Im really liking it now,
And how is McCarthy going to be able to corral the Teahaddist crowd? I mean, his skills as House Whip weren’t exactly stellar…Oh, well. Not our problem.
As for the Teahaddists crashing the midterms? The GOP “establishment” should’ve thought of that before the primaries. Good luck on that.
Gohmert
Imaging the GOP working on actual legislation as fast as they work out who will be the next Majority Leader.
Just imagine.
I think this shows in stark detail that they could do their jobs if they really wanted to.
."Oh, well. Not our problem. "
Actually since the GOP controls the House it is our problem.
Cuz we wouldn’t want anything resembling democracy getting in the way of our oligarchy, now would we?
Pretty funny. McCarthy has lower insanity ratings than Cantor.
But since they have been clear that they are fine with current GOP members losing as collateral damage I suppose that that could be interpreted as progress.
It really doesn’t get much better than this for the residents in McCarthy’s district! Ag and Oil interests have long dominated in Kern County, which issues 90% of fracking permits in California and accounts for 10% of US domestic oil production. It is the site of vast groundwater theft, soil depletion and all forms of resource stripping and agency capture. When the writer Ed Humes looked for his most unfair place in America, the subject of “Mean Justice” he wound up in Bakersfield. It has a hybrid power structure, with ostensible government fronting for incredibly rich oil and ag interests. With collapsing geological structures and resource theft harder to keep under wraps, the focus on this forlorn district may finally get some attention, which is great. Even Jerry Brown can’t find anything to say about the place except the need to seen more water to the area.
That’s Sessions.
I apologize for the thread jack, but I just came across Dave Brat’s “alternative” to the ACA:
"It’s obvious we’ve gotta first separate the insurance issue from the healthcare issue. The health care costs are the most fundamental problem – and the reason there is a healthcare cost problem is just simple economics. It’s because the consumer is not seeing the full price of healthcare.
Right? If you take your kid in for the sniffles, you pay $20 but the full cost is $200. And so we need to get back to the price system where you see the full cost of healthcare and then people will make smarter decisions. That’ll reduce healthcare costs and it’s a huge part of our economy."
