Discussion: Pentagon: Syria Airstrikes Were 'Very Successful'

One empty airfield, three empty buildings, and a parking lot were all successfully somewhat damaged.

Because chlorine gas can only be manufactured or stored by incredibly sophisticated equipment.

This is total and complete bullshit. They’re not even pretending.

Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White says, “It was mission accomplished.” She acknowledged, however, that one of the goals of the strikes was to deter Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government from using chemical weapons again. She says,** “It is too soon to know if that will be the case.”**

Then you don’t bloody well know if it was accompliahed do you?

So much press gullibility.

You mean like bleach, ammonia and a toilet?

I watched the presser on the news this morning. The general said the attack was so precise on the storage sites that no chemicals were released…so if those chemicals weren’t released then where are they? Still in the storage sites?

You see? Multiple highly sophisticated ingredients they couldn’t possibly have in countries not as great as the US. (I was thinking pool sanitizer myself)

Knowing Dotard, he probably targeted the city water supply fluoridation feed.

I looked at the airfield on Google and Bing, certainly did not look like a primary target even in the past. I am sure we caught them by surprise as well. (cough).

I really hate seeing our military treated a a PR pawn. Bush did it and now Trump. And Trump has far less humanity to guide him than Bush.

With a week’s notice Assad could have put the whole supply in his grandmother’s basement. Not to mention armies typically store stuff in ways that help protect it. This is just pathetic.

She says the U.S. was confident that they had “significantly degraded his ability to use chemical weapons ever again.”
Until a few helicopters fly over certain areas, open their door and roll out a few barrel bombs.

OK, I think Trump’s efforts, as long as he remains in office, will be in essentially five areas. He’ll cash in wherever he can. He’ll try to reverse Obama’s Presidency. He’ll try to give his base goodies, both tangible and emotional. He’ll try to stave off the multiple investigations closing in on him. And five, ta-daaaaahhh, will be a clumsy performance of stuff he thinks is presidential, like making missiles go boom and saluting military dudes standing by helicopter doors and doing weird handshakes with foreign dignitaries. Pure performance, based on stuff he’s seen on the news. He’ll never understand what a normal executive branch does. He’ll just act out his idea of it, like children pretending in their backyards.

that’s what I’m thinking…maximus is right…we just wasted millions of dollars worth of missiles to shoot up a bunch of empty buildings

McKenzie says, “As of right now we’re not aware of any civilian casualties.”

With the advance warning Trump gave them I would be surprised if there were any casualties at all.

Well the John Birchers will be jealous.

Sucessful? Well it’s all everyone is talking about so I guess it was.

Consider there have been 9 chemical attacks in Syria since Trump’s first bombing in 2017. So why is this one different? Cohen’s office raid?

I think there is a little more to it than that. Trump mostly behaves like he has a bachelor’s degree in authoritarianism. A lot of this stuff is thought out.

Bingo

I’m guessing Dotard gave Russia plenty of advance notice to allow them time for them to be moved to a different site…

Diversion Accomplished!

Mission Accomplished = We hit what we aimed at.
