Believe it or not, the person you are describing typically has no political affiliation. In the past, men who feel that they are losers, nobodies, worthless and who see the world as owing them something that they just aren’t being handed tend to go to whichever of the current socio-political groups are recruiting such men. These are the men that ISIS is actively recruiting, and who, yes, the Conservative militias are working hard to get. A hundred years ago, these men would have been welcomed into the Anarchists.

I know what you mean, that spate of stories on Wednesday seemed like the beginning of an oppo tsunami. But the news folks do have to make a good-faith effort to confirm things, and in life in general you get this feast/famine pattern. It must be some sort of law of physics we haven’t yet discovered or something.
