Damn straight. You tell 'em, Nancy.

I hope they really grill Mueller on his failure to interview Trump.
Also, I’d like a clear answer on whether Barr forced Mueller to stop his investigation.
I see that as easily possible—he could just use his authority to declare that Mueller had finished his job.

Democratic leadership called on special counsel Robert Mueller to testify publicly before the House and Senate

Subpoena or it never happened.

Ask nice, subpoena if refused. This helps establish a solid legal case. I don’t like it but I get the thinking. Be as airtight as possible.

I think that Mueller is one Republican who might respond to a letter and appear voluntarily.

It may not even need to be sternly written.

Of course, he is a Republican, so I could easily be wrong.

It will be interesting to see which side asks the most hostile questions.

He may not be the one who forces [the question of his participation] into court.

There is no legal reason to write a letter before issuing a subpoena. Letters do nothing in terms of “establishing a solid legal case.”

Subpoenas have the force of law. Letters do not.

Letters are good for slow-walking, though.

Anybody think Schumer’s frowning angry schoolmarm-glasses look is a good look for the 21st century? Might have worked in the 1800’s.

But I am sure it is really super attractive to younger voters.

Is the request legally binding? No. Oh then he’s not gonna testify. But keep asking nicely for the republicans to play by your rules Dems, the GOP loves your impotence.

When you head over to other sites more dominated by younger voters you’ll find it’s not the ‘look’ of Schumer or Pelosi anyone cares about, but the lack of fighting back and complete impotence of the dems to message or counter GOP messaging they find appalling.

I’m sure engaging with you will be a huge mistake but something’s wrong on the internet and I’ve got to fix it.

No, george, you either know you’re being disingenuous or you require a bit of an education.

So, being a mild-mannered sort, I won’t assume bad faith on your part and try to explain why doing all this the right way is so important.

  1. It’s important from a legal standpoint because the administration will no doubt try to challenge this in court. Not that the law or precedent is on their side, but they’ll try and best to be prepared.

  2. For Truth to win out in the court of public opinion, the Democrats have to approach this from a standpoint of fairness and rule of law. If they are judged by the public as having acted in good faith in the best interest of the country and without playing politics, then we may see a successful impeachment. In my view, this is the only way impeachment can be successful.

But you already knew that, didn’t you?

I return you now to your regularly scheduled trolling.

Those are reading glasses. They magnify near objects, such as words on a page you are reading. If you keep them on when looking at distant objects, you will see a blur. So, rather than taking them off and putting them on over and over and over, some people wear them in such a way that they do not blur the view of distant objects.

I’m old enough to know this – and too old to keep explaining it!

If you’re not assuming bad faith, what is the following?

Yes, that’s how it’s done and it matters a lot. When the subject eventually appears to testify, or the matter later gets in front of a judge, refusal of opportunities to cooperate with due process weigh heavily in establishing intent. Opening a formal interaction with a subpoena puts the subject on a defensive footing before proceedings begin and gives them every excuse to plead that the investigation is and was unnecessarily heavy-handed.

The heavy ventilating here is amusing, someone didn’t get a pony for their birthday so they keep crying, but the adults know no one gets a fucking pony no matter how much they whine.

I know - but bifocals were invented by Benjamin Franklin to solve that problem. :grinning:

Pelosi&Co. should have Miller testify… allow us Americans to see & hear what the real ruler of the USA, the architect of the internment camps and child separation plans is like.

I believe they’re called “panty-droppers.”

I have two pairs I never use.

Honestly, tpr, the f*********t word is not appropriate in these forums. Change you post, and I’ll change this one.
