The real emergency is Trump’s flouting of Constitutional requirements of our government and those who serve in it. His “Declaration of National Emergency” which indeed does do “violence to the Constitution” is itself a true national emergency.
Nancy Pelosi excels in dropping nuanced messaging bombs.
That might be code for “let’s do our job” addressed to her fellow congress critters. As in, are you an elected representative of your constituents in a democracy, or just a craven hack indentured to your party?

The news stories about this read, “12 Republican Senators voted against Trump.”
A better headline would be, “Almost a quarter all Senate Republicans rebuke Trump.”
There’s only 51 of them out of 100- pretty slim ‘majority’.
Run for office- especially the Senate and ESPECIALLY if you’re from Kentucky or Texas.
So, the majority of the Senate either does not understand, care or is unwilling to execute their oath in confronting an egotistical, ignorant bully.

I love that among the Senators who voted against Trump were Little Marco Rubio and Mitt “I grovelled for the Sec of State job still didn’t get it” Romney. I was waiting for Trump’s insult tactics to come back to bite him. Heck, even Susan “Lucy” Collins didn’t pull the football away this time. Sasse and Tillis have taken the “Tease and Cave” mantle from her.
The bad news is that Lying Ted and Total Lightweight Graham are still in the “Thank you sir, may I have another” caucus.
This is just another Trump sh*t show. When the vote comes to override the veto McConnell and all republicans will fall in line with Trump. I refer you to the Tillis op ed two weeks ago. Then when the vote came he got right in line with Trump. Hypocrites all!!
