Whether they cancel their shows or stage their shows and donate to gay and anti-discrimination causes in NC, and scream on stage about how the Republicans are a bunch of bigoted assholes and ask their audiences to sign petitions against these laws - hey, both ideas work for me!

Was a little curious as to why Duran Duran hadnā€™t canceled their NC show. They (Duran Duran) did something better.

Hey, they can always get Ted Nugent to replace Pearl Jam. I mean, Iā€™m sure there are plenty of 13-year-old girls in North Carolina for Ted. After all, itā€™s not like heā€™s gay or anything like that!

maybe they could do a benefit and have Twisted Sister and Boy George headline with the proceeds going to North Carolina LGBTQ groupsā€¦

McCartney, Springsteen, LITTLE RICHARD w/Lee Michaels on organ, Melissa Etheridge, Indigo Girlsā€¦

they could all be on stage for the encore singing ā€˜All We Are Sayingā€¦ Is Give Pees a Chanceā€™

It must be a source of never ending frustration for conservatives that most talented entertainers are progressive.

But I suppose there are bands that would now gravitate towards NC. This is the real beginning of cultural secession.

And donā€™t forget Dennis Miller and Victoria Jackson.

Perhapsā€¦ I think a combination may work best: cancellations to keep the issue in the news; support/donations to keep advocates engaged (and funded). Fence-sitters are possibly offended by boycotts, but may be more sympathetic to symbolic protest.

Even bigger news: Pearl Jam is still a band.

The concert was to be in Raleigh, and many if not a majority of the those in attendance would have been students and younger faculty from UNC, NC State and Duke. Those arenā€™t folks that the ultra conservative legislators behind this mind offending.

Ouch.

Bravo.

We have communicated with local groups and will be providing them with funds to help facilitate progress on this issue.

this is a nice touch. And much better than just cancelling by itself.
