Quinnipiac has the generic ballot at D +16. A spread like that has NEVER, repeat, never been seen before. You can’t gerrymander away a spread like that. If that were to hold on election day, you would have 100 seat swing.
You assume Trumpistas have necks? That’s a stretch
They already had one installed. Back in November.
And she has had quite enough of this shit.
Do you follow Pete Souza on Instagram? Yesterday he posted a pic of Obama and Putin with the caption, not much smiling happening here. Also, he’s releasing a book soon of his Obama photographs.
Haven’t gotten on Instagram yet (too many time sinks already) but have always enjoyed Souza’s jabs when they have shown up in the news somewhere. That man had the great honor of working with the finest president of our time and he knows it. I love the subtle ways he pokes at Drumpfie.
BTW, a friend of mine sent me the image below right after the French election. Now all we needs is a few weaseling, puling courtiers and jesters in the background and we have today’s WH and GOP
It should be noted that the DCCC or the DNC are not to be found in this story. This is grassroots activism and "progressive groups, including Indivisible and MoveOn, which have banded together to form The Payback Project"are leading the way. Reminds me of the tea party movement, except on steroids.
I guess TPM is still having issues with comments, as this one, about Comey and Rosenstein, appeared under an article about the Affordable Care Act.
What’s with “Dems try to hang”? Why do they have to try? It’s a fact.
It should be noted that we the people are the ones to do it. Don’t waste time attacking Dem organizations. Our focus is on the repubs. It’s up to left leaning we the people to fight for what we want.
My question is where the hell are they? This is the time for party building.
My Indivisible group held a “die-in” at my GOP Rep’s office last night.
It’s going to be a summer in the streets isn’t it? I keep hearing the Doobie Brothers echoing in my head.
I didn’t see it but evidently Joe Scarborough had a huge rant on this morning about the electoral trouble the GOP is buying for itself going along with Trump and all this madness. This isn’t David Frum we’re talking about. Seems like at least a significant data point to me.
You never want this much trouble. But when it comes, you find you understand more clearly what you’re willing to fight to protect.
Speaking of Quinnipiac, I was looking around last night for Pres. approval ratings. Rass had him at 46% approve, which I LOL’d about and Q had him at 36%, which I thought was generous too.
Also too…where have Ivanka and Jared been lately? Awfully quiet. Did the crazy tweets and firing of Comey happen because they are globe trotting and grifting and shirking their babysitting duties or are they even backing away?
I did see the Scarborough rant. He kept saying Speaker Pelosi…Look, the Rs know it, hence the retirements. And it’s still early. My brother-in-law lives in the reddest district in Indiana, was a Reagan Republican, has never run for anything in his life and has an exploratory committee to run for Congress as a Dem. This shit is serious.
Hell yes, I have better things to do than be in the streets protesting but it seems like that will be the order of the day. And we all thought 2016 was a bad year.
You know, it’s all very well to reflect a constituency’s cultural resentments and anxieties, to be the party of lame white people, all that fun stuff. They’ve been dining out on that for a while now. But if you enact or threaten to enact really, really unpopular policies, unpopular as in people consciously hate them, well, evidently there’s a certain lingering element of political gravity lurking around in that and what went up will come back down. It wouldn’t have happened as fast with Kasich, but that’s not the path they chose.
Well his “change of heart” is at once encouraging and…curious.
I’m not sure we’re as mindful as possible that no matter what you read about their public statements, Trump is not at all popular in the Congressional GOP. From what I’ve seen, maybe 50 or 100 representatives are genuinely positive about him. Senate, who knows? A handful. Maybe. But every off-the-record comment makes it perfectly obvious they know he’s nuts. They supported him before the election to keep their numbers up. Now they’re in a hostage situation.
