If this goes down (or, as Mr. Kurtz alluded to, gets ā€œshelvedā€) all bets are off. At that point, Rump will put the blame on everyone else and would be out for revenge. Heā€™s gonna be even more upset wehn he tries to go forward with tax cuts. Some GOP members were thinking along the lines of tax reform which, most likely isnā€™t what Rump wants.

But tax cuts are gonna be a harder sell as well given that ACA repeal went sideways AND that the GOP wants to put the border tax in there as well. So if Rump thinks he can just ignore this debacle and move on, heā€™s got another thing coming to him. From what little Iā€™ve seen on CNBC, the retail community (already reeling from a few major chains declaring bankruptcy) is dead set against the border tax.
