Discussion: Paul Ryan: 'I Am Just Not Ready To' Support Donald Trump

I find Ryan’s response both wimpy and dumb, in a political tactical sort of way. It reads as if he is not bold enough to take a real stance, one way or the other, on Trump. So he hedges and says he’s “not ready,” implying that at some point he will support. Why not just say it now and get it over with?

How do you put Humpty-Dumpty together again?

That’s beautiful. Hmmm … a black Lincoln – to what is the world coming?

Florida, Florida and Florida, of course.

She has double digits there in early polling already. If she has double digit or close to them in Florida, Ohio, Colorado…its a blow out. Because it will extrapolate very well into neighboring states (except Florida…but winning Florida big is the election, no ifs ands or buts)

I am looking a NC closely too. I think its actually in the bag, because there is a lot of motivation to toss McCrory, so actually we may have a reverse turn out situation…Hillary gets a bigger margin because people are eager to vote him out.

And I will be watching the polling in Arizona very closely as well. Kirkpatrick is holding pretty solid neck and neck so far. A strong surge by her and by Hillary there could very well tip the state.

Beyond state battles, I think the big keys are whats going on with the Hispanic community. They are bigger than they were in 2008 and 2012…and they are registering in bigger numbers. If they actually surpass their historical participation rates…it’s going to be very bad for the GOP and Trump in particular.

My main concerns are apathy on our part if this turns into a foregone conclusion by Sept, and the media, which has an actual financial stake in reporting a close race, bangs Hillary ceaselessly and grovels before Trump.

Oh…and lots of Samantha Bee. I am just in love with her new show

:hushed: Does he need floss, too? (Orange Pubes!!)

Those were some excellent vacuous platitudes from Princess Elsa Ryan of Arendelle. I am sure that the moment will be right when Donald Trump offers the blue-eyed princess the right inducements.

For perhaps the first and last time, I agree with him. I’m not ready to support The Donald. But I’ll NEVER be ready.

Dog, that would be just desserts. He deserves it and it would be wonderful to start reversing what those assholes have done to North Carolina.

Yes! It is way past time to retire John McCain.

I like your way of thinking, but with a caveat–it’s only the 5th of May. That’s more than time enough for Trump to pivot into something that’s more palatable to voters. Especially voters that–SQUIRREL!

We need to support and campaign like we are 5 points behind – all the way to Tuesday, November 08th!

Don’t worry, Plutocrat Pauly, the MSM is going to go well beyond anything we have ever seen them do to date in order to support Trump for you, manufacturing all false equivalencies necessary for a horse race narrative. Trump could literally beat an old woman in front of her differently-abled, crippled grand-daughter and then hold the child down to take a dump in her mouth, and the MSM will find a way to Benghazi about it. In fact, they’re planning for precisely that scenario as we speak.

“Ryan also said he expected the primary race to go on longer than it did, perhaps all the to the convention.”

This is the key, he was hoping that they’d get to the convention without a clear nominee, chaos would ensue, and the party would turn to him to be their savior nominee. He’s trying to figure out what happened… he’s not ready to support Trump because he’s not ready to accept that they’re not going to beg him to step in.

So he wants Trump to raise taxes 11 times? or deal weapons to our enemies in violation of federal law?

Ryan is waiting for Trump to run a principled campaign that advances the principles of the Republican Party and appeals to a wide, vast majority of Americans. To dream the impossible dream.

“This is the party of Lincoln, of Reagan, of Jack Kemp,” all of whom are dead, and “we hope that our nominee aspires to be Lincoln and Reagan-esque.” That is one Paul Ryan idea I can get behind.

What ARE conservative values? Someone please explain. All I can figure is that conservative values are just ‘anything opposite of what a democrat wants’.
