Discussion: Paul Manafort: I Did Not Violate Gag Order By Weighing In On Op-Ed About Me

These assholes cannot tell the truth, even if their lives depended upon doing so.

I was going to say “oh my god, imagine how pissed Manafort’s attorney is that the idiot just won’t shut his fucking trap”… but it’s the LAWYER who’s coming out and saying this?

Everyone be stupid forever.

As the Judge I used to clerk for would say: “When you come back to court, bring your toothbrush, and a big tube of toothpaste, because you’ll be going away for a long time.”

Hey, he had to say something. And “yeah, my client totally flipped off the court and wiped his ass with the order” isn’t what he’s payed to say.

He totally doesn’t have to say a thing! Say “no comment”!

IANAL, but I can not think of any time when lying or saying stupid shit is better than a good old “no comment”.

It’s as if he doesn’t realize that Mueller can put him in actual jail.

This was a brief in response to the prosecution’s motion to revoke the bail deal, not a press conference. Filing a brief that just said “no comment” is a thing that would make your malpractice carrier very, very cranky.

But trust me, his attorney is thoroughly pissed about having to say this.

You want us to carefully read an article before commenting on it? That’s not very 21st century.

Slow (or boring)! Sad!

That’s how he acts.

I’m constantly somewhat astounded by him because of his lame bullshit. How the fuck did he sell himself to dictators and wannabe dictators? Why would they want him?

Not only does he circumvent his bail agreement by co-writing an Op-ed, but he does it with a Russian intelligence officer! Is he trying to make Mueller’s case for him or trying to force a pardon from Trump?

I would say unbelievable, but…

Never hung with dictators much but I’ve seen management consultants hired and paid gobs of money based on nothing but brazen confidence. Lots of business people, you can walk up and say to them “I’m a kickass brain surgeon” and if you say it the right way they’ll ask you if you have any time next week to operate on their brain. I don’t know how many times I’ve wanted to ask people if they aren’t curious about whether I’m really good or not before they hire me. It’s weird.

Those dictators respect them some smarmy arrogance and Paulie has it in spades.

The whole “consultant” gig to me is a monumental con - I have friends who are “consultants” and I still have no idea what they do and they can’t really say themselves very coherently. And they make wads of money. I should have skipped law school and gone right into giving all kinds of people all kinds of consultations - I’m excellent with advice.

These scumbags actually think they are smart. Just like Fredo and his attorney client privilege. They just can not stop the stupid arrogance, no matter what.

I can’t figure out why Manafort even bothers to live in America. At least Kim Philby had the decency to stay in Russia after he defected. That I can almost respect. But Manafort’s a traitor to his country but still wants the benefits of being American.
