Discussion: Pastry Chef Suing Mar-a-Lago Says He Lost His Job Over Harassment Complaint

Door number 3 is assuming, probably correctly, that they’ll pay him off rather than actually let the whole thing go to any sort of discovery (as pointed out by @paul_lukasiak).

I wonder if they had to eject the illegal immigrants working there ?

I’m guessing that Mar-A-Lago is not a candidate for Best Places to Work.

No, management just made working conditions so bad that they voluntarily self-deported.

I toured that place before TRUMPf bought it; [ friend in REAL ESTATE]it was built by MARJORIE M. POST, its one of those places that has every conceivable style /design used in it…it is almost tacky…it sat on the market for years, it was offered to the county and they said ‘no’…they didn’t think people would pay to tour it.

Not only do they work cheap, they can be harassed and fired to cover up the harassment and illegal hiring.
Threatening to report their families to ICE is a favorite tactic of Employers who routinely hire illegals, in fact it’s the #1 way they control illegal workers to keep them from reporting OSHA incidents, safety issues, FDA violations, etc. and of course, the rampant sexual harassment of women (and men) by the employers.
This is why so many US Employers LOVE ILLEGAL LABOR. They can abuse them to their (shriveled, blackened) hearts content and they KNOW they will get away with it. Even if they are caught, they pay a small fine and go right back to doing it again.
The worse offenders are the Meat Packing industry in places like Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Arkansas. It is endemic there.

There was a piece a while back (in mother jones?) about this. Included the detail of a young man whose leg was torn off in a very-likely-preventable accident. The company “discovered” his papers were out of order and had him on a plane as soon as the hospital released him…
