Discussion: Papa John's Offers To 'Work With' NFL Amid Public Uproar Over CEO Comments

That and the fact that your pizza is worse than Dominoes Death Discs–and that’s quite an achievement.

The only thing Papa John should be selling is douche, since he comes by it naturally…

Fuck this guy. He’s just another money-grubbing plutocrat who supports the GOP and Trump. I sincerely hope he suffers a massive boycott and that someone eventually stuffs him into one of his pizza ovens…if you can even call that shit “pizza”.

I still remember John Schnatter hugging Mitt Romney and saying that he couldn’t offer health insurance to his employees because he himself would make $40 million per year instead of $44 million if he did so. He’s a member of the clueless 1% who is also stupid enough to overtly diss the “little people.” In fact, I helped organize protests outside his local pizzeria in 2012 after he said that. I realize I will never close him down, but it felt good to do something.

Interesting how the folks that claim democrats are always doing things for money, always seem to be doing things for money. Shakespeare was right. Funny how that is. Oh Roy!

This reveals just how effective consumer-led boycotts and negative branding campaigns are. It turns out that the numerical and financial advantage enjoyed by Democrats can be aimed at what is probably the root cause of the GOP’s lurch into cronyistic neofascism: the need to appease a shitbag donor class that views the political realm as an opportunity for market dominance or corrupt personal enrichment. Take the case of Hannity: surely there must be some way to render him toxic to advertisers even if he drops the pedophile?

Any company that hires GOP lickspittle Peyton Manning as spokesman deserves shunning.

Wow, wasn’t aware this actually happened. Thanks for that info and will never buy a Papa John pizza other than to piss on it and then ask for a refund: “It just doesn’t taste right”.

This from a man whose company massively contributes to the obesity, heart disease, liver disease, stroke, diabetes of Americans. He makes his millions by making the world a fatter, sicker, slower place. Boycott this lousy company and go eat some spinach in protest!! To your health!!

This was reported on the local news last night. He said he doesn’t want any help from neo-Nazis.

And I died laughing .

True that. A poster boy.

@marby I remember him whining about how raising the price of his pies would financially devastate him in an interview. First he said that he’d have to raise the price by (gasp) 25¢. Questioned further he admitted it was only 17¢ … then it went to 14¢ … then between 11-14¢ per pie.

The funniest thing about the interview, besides his display abject avarice of course, was he pivoted to whining about how people had unfairly publicized the size of his new 40,000-square-foot Louisville castle (replete with underground garage) and even had the audacity to publish pictures of it. (And, yes, it’s as gaudy and tasteless inside as his pizzas.)

What made that particularly hilarious was he had already posted an ad on YouTube announcing his discovery of on-line ordering prominently featuring … you guessed it … his house.

Streisand’s got nothin’ on this bastard.

The company’s stock has fallen by nearly 13 percent since Schnatter’s comments.

May it fall another 13 percent by Sunday night.

Perhaps the fact his pizza sucks plays into this. A CEO has fiduciary responsibility. Offensive, reckless, politically motivated comments are a breech of that responsibility. Not a first for this wingnut either.

No one is showing disrespect for the flag or anthem. They are kneeling in front of it. They’re not turning their backs, walking off the field flipping the bird. They are kneeling.

You can’t “nip protest in the bud” and still be America. That kind of thinking is anti-American. Kneeling is not.

“Take personal responsibility” . Remember that? He made the comments. He should take responsibility for their negative impact on the comapany’s bottom line. He should issue the apology. He did it. Not the football players. People still go to and watch the games. They just stopped buying his pizza.

The thing is, Dominos is what it is – it doesn’t pretend to be anything other than inexpensive, filling, essentially fast-food pizza, whereas Papa John’s tries to project this image of purveying all-natural, all-fresh, all hand-made gourmet pizza, but it’s awful. I’ve never tasted anything worse than Papa John’s pizza – it’s worse than the slices you can buy at 7-11 that have been sitting under a heat lamp for 3 days. Compared to Papa John’s, Dominos is the food of the gods. If Papa John’s business has tanked, it’s because they make terrible-tasting pizza.

I could not agree more. I ordered one one time and that was it. Never again. The worst.

That was a hysterical line.

I don’t eat pizza but my staff agrees with you guys. They order it on occasion ( I get the bill ) and they refuse Pappa Johns. Not for political reasons…they don’t have any. It’s gross and they don’t want it.
