Discussion: Palin Praises Trump's Immigration Plan: It's 'Common Sense' (VIDEO)

Discussion for article #239541

I had several witty remarks to make concerning Sarah’s ignorant opinion on anything at all but they’ve already been done here a million times.

They are still needed. This woman, as lazy, mean-spirited and shallow as she is, nevertheless was a key impetus in the ginned-up rage of the Tea Party which gave us five years (and counting) of a paralyzed Congress.

The mentally and morally challenged can often do as much damage as the criminally brilliant.

Oh, Sarah…when you’re willing to go sun burn your ass picking strawberries, you can back such a plan, but until then, all Trump is going to do is starve Americans while raising your taxes to the point of your own poverty to pay for his plan.

And this is newsworthy because…?

An analyst (I believe that it was a TIME-LIFE journalist) mentioned something about the “cold crypts of Himmler’s mind”.

With Sarah, it is a pig sty (in the good portion).

I’m sure she’ll be described in history books and dissertations as a paroxysm of this and that, but her personal relevancy and power have been diminishing with a delightfully agonizing slowness for years and years now, don’t you think? It’s like if the Wicked Witch had water thrown on her and it took her three or four yeas to melt. Everything she does is a step downward from what she was doing six months before. The people she stirred up are still troublesome, and I’m not sure how to go about wising them up. But as a lifelong amateur student of celebrity, like every American, I don’t think Sarah has much more mischief in her.

Bad too.

I’ll bet Trump got a laugh out of the Cabinet offer. Trump isn’t that smart but he’s smart enough to know that and surround himself with folks that are. Palin isn’t going anywhere near a Trump cabinet.

The Alaskan Independence Party’s Web site, akip.org, which includes the motto “Alaska First — Alaska Always” in its banner, describes party members as seeking “a range of solutions to the conflicts between federal and local authority,” including “advocacy for state’s rights, through a return to territorial status, all the way to complete independence and nationhood status for Alaska.” It calls for repatriation of lands held by the federal government “to the state and people of Alaska,” as well as, among other issues, the right to home-school children and the privatization of government services.

Todd Palin was an AKIP member for seven years and she spoke at a convention in '06. Now Todd can’t lose his citizenship in regards to that previous association, but maybe someone should ask her to be quiet about anything involving US citizenship.

Seeing how the McCain camp had to work overtime to vouch for her.

She’s really giving the Donald the full girlfriend experience every chance she gets in the media. Methinks Sarah yearns to be a VP candidate again.

Oh for christ’s sake, this Palin lady again… sigh…

True that. Her main damage, in my opinion, was as one of many people who facilitated (in her case as a sort of “cheerleader”) the TeaBagg takeover of Congress. Beyond that it’s just her paying her light bill by whatever income she can grift.

I will say, however, that she does have some historical importance, in a sense, because of a point I made on another thread:

The Presidential election Process by which a nominee selects a running mate (who can succeed him/her) and Sarah Palin’s example of being one of the worst cases.

TPM, will you please stop reporting on every fucking ignorant crap that comes out of this lady’s mouth? We all know she’s an idiot, what we don’t need is a daily affirmation about it.

So…it is Constitutional to want to ignore one of the amendments in said Constitution and to build a wall that is not stated anywhere in there. Seems logical.

Seems that all Trump did was list off conservative wish list of fairly angry sounding and unrealistic policy goals.

Irrelevant comments on an irrelevant subject from an irrelevant commenter. Irrelevant.

But that’s the point. The entirety of the Right Wing ideology is unsustainable and impossible to implement, and yet they have twisted everything to the point where people believe certain things are Constitutional when they aren’t and believe certain things are unconstitutional when they really are.

Trump’s immigration policies would both bankrupt the country (costs of actually deporting people) and create a situation where our crops would be rotting in the fields because guess who picks our crops.

She was certainly influential in 2010, although pushing the most extreme candidate (“I’m not a witch!”) doesn’t always work out. She’s contributed to the direct damage and lost opportunities of the last five years, certainly. But are there scenarios where she would have effectively hastened the end of the Republicans as a strong national party? The Tea Party thing doesn’t really seem like a coherent, disciplined movement right now. : )
