And none of them have genetic anomalies that will cause them to suffer horrifically unless they’re kept unconscious for the entirety of their short lives. (Yeah, our eldest was in NICU. You could tell that insofar as the babies there were awake, they were in, uh, discomfort. Those kinds of torture can be justified if you expect the kid to survive and live a reasonable life. But if it’s that until death, anyone who contemplates inflicting such an experience should be put away. Imo.)
