Stick with what works. I expect the analysis is, if it blows over, great! they didn’t have to do anything. If it doesn’t, they’ve had time to get their story straight. (Unfortunately, I suspect the NRA is more competent at that than Donnie and the Dumpster Fires). And being prickly and standoffish is branding for them.
I just would love to see Wayne LaPierre answering questions under oath. Can’t see it happening, but a boy can dream.

That’s not actually a good sign, Skippy. Also not a denial that NRA laundered Russian money into the campaign, I couldn’t help but notice.
In fact, I have a bit of a suspicion your firm was retained to conduct an “investigation” into the allegations that would pin the blame on the plausible deniability cut-out, but the same sense of invulnerability that made Gewehrfuhrer LaPierre think he could get away with it caused him to ignore the firewall and now, this is the best you can do. Just blatantly speculating, of course.

I will blatantly speculate further. It could be that members of the NRA leadership have already been talking to Mueller (and/or the grand jury) and are legally restrained from letting that tidbit of information out of the bag.
