“We’d better be sure that we’re prepared to live with the market we’ve created” through repeal, Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) said, according to the Post. “That’s going to be called Trumpcare. Republicans will own that lock, stock and barrel, and we’ll be judged in the election less than two years away.”

Dixiecrat Party Profiles in Courage

There is an offensive but totally appropriate word for them. Uttered frequently by Sandor Clegane and Ser Bron in Game of Thrones.

I remember when Obama said [paraphrased] “I don’t care if they want to call it Obamacare. I’m proud they want to call it that.”

You could hear Rethugliklan heads exploding in Antarctica.

The entire government is shot through with leaks. It’s leaking from every level. A torrent of fear and loathing.

O wow - I wish I’d said that. That’s a perfect description of this mess.

You are right (they must destroy it to show that it doesn’t work) - but fortunately, most people realize that whatever happens, it is happening on the GOP’s watch. None of whatever is going to happen happened under Obama, so they will still own it.

The teabaggers also came up with their name all by themselves. And then someone looked in the Urban Dictionary. Oops!

Now, now, it’s not like the GOP had a couple of decades to come up with their own plan. /s

I agree that the hypocrisy is stunning.

But changing the name back to ACA or Trumpcare is the first step in rescuing some semblance of it? Or am I too naive?

Watch, the legislature is going to chicken out and get the courts to do their dirty work. They’ll tell all the State attorney generals and governors suing to continue and make sure they get to favorable judges. That way they can blame the whole dismantling on Obama.

According to the latest Quinnipiac poll, 84% don’t want any repeal until there is a replacement.

Welcome to the corner you’ve painted yourselves into, 'pubs!

Not very original though. When Hillary Clinton lead a task force under WJC to try and come up with modernized systemic solutions to the Job Killing Cartel Extortion Racket that the health insurance market had become, the Right Wing Talk Radio, FOX News, GOP Comintern all derisively hooted and hollered and came up with “HillaryCare.” Because she had the temerity as First Lady to try and do something policy rather than conduct White House Tours and social teas. So, Obamacare was not even slightly original.

I’d really like to know why America allows these so called “public servants” to hold secret meetings at all? Once elected, everything they say should be on the record, they shouldn’t be given the opportunity to plot . It’s amazing we allow them to operate as some type of underground cabal.

Romney’s ‘47%’ video is a prime example of why all the people need to know what is being said and by whom. It’s the only way to make a real informed choice.

I think not!

I remember how House and Senate Dems ran from the ACA, thinking it wiser to avoid the subject rather than touting all of the benefits and blaming the GOP governors who refused to accept Medicaid expansion. It didn’t work out too well for them.

Republicans have nothing to tout, regardless, because repeal is nothing more than a massive tax cut for the 0.1%. It sounds like their strategy for the mid-terms will be hide and seek. Have fun with that.

@cetacean That ruling against Aetna is a sign of things to come if the GOP or insurance companies try to further sabotage the marketplaces.
