hank the k just throwin’ some strangelove to billio
Bill O’Reilly is that guy, the guy who sits down next to you on the plane or at the hotel bar, and the news is on the TV and it starts him off. Everyone is stupid, and he’s the only one who knows how to fix everything. “I’ll tell you what they oughta do,” he says. And he tells you and tells you and tells you some more and inside you’re hating life and asking Jesus to please please take you now because he just will not shut the fuck up. O’Reilly is that guy writ large.
That explains why Billo reached back to WWII leaving out Vietnam and Curtis LeMay; and the Neocon Stanley McChrystal of Afghanistan.
You are thinking of Douglas MacArthur in Korea, who was fired by President Truman. Patton was reprimanded for slapping a “battle-fatigued” (yesterday’s PTSD) soldier in hospital. He was temporarily relieved of his command in Sicily as a result.
I really, really wish Rachel Maddow would follow up her Tiller documentary with a book entitled, “Killing Tiller: Bill O’Reilly, The Radical Right, and the Murder of Dr. George Tiller”. It would be SOOOOOOO satisfying to see Billo’s head pop like a pimple, since every word in the book would be true.
Patton’s behavior resulted in a Presidential Censure, and ultimately resulted in his loss of the 7th Army. MacArthur was outright fired by the CIC.
And while he’s at it, why doesn’t he dig up Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo and get THEIR endorsements?
I know he’s awfully sad the Dulles brothers are dead.
Patton was relieved of his 7th Army command in Sicily, but not for insubordination. He was later to be given command of the 3rd Army in France, where he made his reputation.
MacArthur was indeed fired outright for insubordination, and retired immediately afterward.
Yes, Patton was relieved in Sicily, but the 7th Army had already been partially broken-up and re-assigned by that time.
Douglas MacArthur was relieved of his command by President Truman on April 11, 1951.
So Big Bill wants a private, multi national military force beholden to who? Obama? HRC? To go around the world (including maybe in good old USA) doing stuff that our regular military force won’t/can’t do? Do we get to raise our taxes to fund this new, unprecedented venture, or do we siphon money away from the elderly and the poor?
I think this will go over really well. If you are an idiot.
Congratulations, O’Reilly, you have the endorsement of a murdering sonofabitch.
Yeah, well, Billdo. Kissinger didn’t exactly have the best track record. Plus, these days his brain is likely the consistency of a week-old cheese blintz.
So we basically agree.
Hmm…could be that we do agree. Stranger things have happened.
O’Reilly, the Peabody winner, brags? Now there’s a scoop.
