Discussion: Oregon Standoff Leader Ammon Bundy And Armed Militiamen Indicted

Exactly!

The whole point of ā€œcivil disobedienceā€ is to get arrested, and if you get beaten or sent to lengthy sentence much the better, go on hunger strike. The point is to display in the court of public opinion not only that they really believe in their cause, but that what they are fighting against is not abstract, people are really suffering and the that authorities are such meanies.

Of course for these bastards that object paying a couple thousand dollars a year for grazing their cattle, being a martyr is out the question, better start a gofundme campaign and keep the money.

The indictments have been unsealed. Charged are the original 11, plus the four still holding out at the refuge, plus that one guy who stole and drove the Fish & Wildlife service truck to the grocery store.

The indictments include the original charge of using armed threats to keep federal officers from performing their duties.

The alleged co-conspirators are charged with occupying the federal property "while using and carrying firearms,ā€™ā€™ threatening violence against anybody who attempted to remove them from the refuge, and using social media and other means of communication to recruit and encourage
others to join them.
The indictments also alleged the group carried firearms on the federal property and refused repeated federal orders to leave.

Hereā€™s the indictments:

Itā€™s not a very lengthy document. One interesting part is it specifically brings up the ā€œbrandishingā€ of firearms as part of the crime. That, by the way, increases the sentence if convicted from ā€œjudgeā€™s discretion, up to no more than six yearsā€ to a mandatory minimum of 7 years for handguns or 10 years for rifles, shotguns and semi-automatic assault rifles. However, what isnā€™t mentioned in the indictment is the fact some of those arrested and indicted were for various reasons prohibited from possessing or carrying firearms. Off the top of my head, I recall at least 4 or 5 who were felons, subject to release agreements, or under a court order of some sort.

Thereā€™s going to be a whole lot of jail time for these insurrectionist bozosā€¦

Cliveyboy claims that he is not a citizen of the United States but merely a citizen of Nevada. So what is he doing involving himself in a dispute in Oregon, a place where he claims not to be a citizen?

At least it isnā€™t quite as broad as she thinks it is; the judge refused to let her go to Olā€™ LeVoyā€™s funeral, since one of the conditions of her release is that she not hang out with these people. Her assumption that she would be able to do this just shows how delusional these folks are, and why the Bundy Boyz, Payne, Ritzy ā€œIā€™m ready to die, well maybe notā€ Boy,and a couple of others will be occupying federal property in Portland for quite some time.

Claiming 5th Amendment rights when you claim to not be a citizen is ludicrous.

police, who shot and killed occupier Robert ā€œLaVoyā€ Finicum during a Jan. 26 traffic stop. Bundy and others were then taken into custody.

I hate it when itā€™s reported like this, and Iā€™ve seen it that way many places, including TPMā€™s own articles. It really doesnā€™t paint the correct picture when you ignore the fact that he ran form the cops after the stop in a high speed chase, almost crashed through a blockade before swerving and crashing off to the side of the road at the last minute, endangering the lives of his passengers and LEOā€™s.

Defense attorneys have said their clients engaged in civil disobedience and are being punished for political speech.

Dumbass lawyers canā€™t tell the difference between civil disobedience and armed insurrection.

Not so.

US Constitution, Amendment V

No person shall ...

The Fifth Amendment applies not just to citizens, but to any person subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.

ā€œDefense attorneys have said their clients engaged in civil disobedience and are being punished for political speech.ā€

Civil disobedience does not begin with making armed threats to shoot anyone that attempts to make you leave.

Again, this is the brain damage these people suffer from. First, if your definition of ā€œcivilā€ involves guns in any way, then you are a fucking moron who should be beaten with an unabridged dictionary. Second, if you think the 2nd Amendment means that guns are the protesterā€™s tool of first resort, then you deserve precisely what Finicum got.

Oh yes, he will have become a martyr. Martyrdom is bankable.

A conflict where you would be tempted to arm both sides.

Ammonboy the goat fucker and his friends refuse to acknowlege the existance of the United States of America. Therefore, claiming Constitutional rights in a country that doesnā€™t exist is ludicrous. They believe all the momo bullshit, so hypocrisy isnā€™t a thing for them.

She was also annoyed that prosecutors presented the indictment to the judge and not to defense attorneys.

How terrible. A lawyer was annoyed. To the fainting couches!
