Discussion: Oregon Shooters' Mom

Discussion for article #241399

So, why did she not get some help? Or did she just brag to herself, kind of silent like? Would others hear this not find it rather odd, unless they themselves are probably a bit odd?

Dang! I just answered my own question!

When every one of a persons associates is a tad odd then they’re normal within the group.

On another front we need to start assessing folks who move here from California to determine if they’re qualified to be a good blue Oregunian. Tejas too, let’s not forget Tejas!!.

“If you know your son has mental health issues, do you encourage a fascination with guns?”

Kind of hard to make responsible decisions when you yourself are suffering from the mental illness known as a gun fetish.

Just her nursing training working flawlessly I suppose. Or maybe she was desirous of having more patients to care for?

“get all the guns before someone outlawed them”.

Silly fuckwit, you STILL can only fire two at a time, max.

Most of the Californians that move to sub-Portlandian Oregon are “State of Jefferson” types who think their Freedumbs were stolen by The Other and given to Marxo-Mexi-Muslim Homosexual Librulz.

Nancy Lanza was similarly encouraging of her son’s hobby.

Are we that pathetic of a society that the amount of guns one owns is a real sense of pride? This is the gun culture problem, right here. Collecting deadly weapons is apparently a self-esteem builder for some? How sad.

And, gee, why am I not surprised that her hoarding an arsenal correlates with NRA propaganda?

Is this something we should be talking about? I mean isn’t it irresponsible to talk about the shooter and the conditions that may have influenced him.

Another gun nut raised by gun nuts commits a mass killing. So isn’t it about time we start asking what is it about gun nuts and gun nut culture that keeps producing mass killers?

Mom sounds a bit off too! Mental health problems often run in families…

It was an unfortunate choice for both of them. Nancy Lanza may be the luckier of the two, though.

If I was the parent of one of the murdered kids, I’d be sorely tempted to wait in front of her house with my own Second Amendment remedy, if you know what I mean.

She’s directly culpable.

But on the bright side, I think Ben Carson’s found his ideal running mate: a fellow health professional who’s a stark raving loon.

If that father had custody, nine lives would have been saved. That simple.

She’s a stupid dupe. She gave her kid gun fever and the rest is history.

Well if she finds herself overcome with grief at least she has several of the most effective remedies for depression close at hand. However I don’t think she will be able to take advantage of Oregon’s death with dignity law.

Prosecute her sorry ass. She is probably the main reason for his problems at least from what I have read. She sheltered him from everything according to neighbors, noise, dog parking, etc. Then to buy him guns and take him to the gun range knowing he had some emotional issues.

…the family that slays together…preys together.

She should be charged for the murders her son committed. Period.
