I think that going after him about the security clearance issue is a better approach. A lot of people had a lot to say about HRC’s purported sins against the security gods — yapping about this was exceeded only by Benghazi!™. We should plow this fertile field.

The entire classified information apparatus is a product of presidential authority. As such, the president can grant access (a “clearance”) to anybody. Whether he should have granted it to Kushner is another question, but his authority to do so is clear. The clearance process is all about objective rules and an administrative process delegated to functionaries so the president doesn’t have to get involved in every case.

Their lack of legal acumen is exceeded only by their lack of sincerity.
The Hatch Act has no teeth unless the DoJ or White House take violations seriously.
