Discussion: Omar Calls Resolution 'Great Progress': 'Our Nation Is Having A Difficult Conversation'

So you assume whites will reject her because of their natural tendency to support a white-supremacist state? News for you: the alt-right voters are not voting dem.

@khyber900 is not the only one. Look in the mirror.

I know what she’s sponsored and voted on. But she’s making headlines for the wrong reasons. I bet I can easily find a Keith Ellison type in that district to sponsor the same types of legislation and have roughly the same voting record with half the drama. She’s replaceable.

Disagreement is not the same as not hearing. I’ve heard everything you’ve said about the Palestinians – maybe better even than you hear yourself

She handily beat the former Minnesota Speaker of the House, almost winning an outright majority in a crowded primary field. No doubt a national fundraising effort is gunning for her. But she will also garner support from equally-motivated groups of national supporters. It will be interesting to see how much money she’s raised in Q1 2019 thanks to those efforts.

The district has a high median income and is filled with college educated folks. To say that no one would want to or could challenge is a bit naive.

That was before she caused the House Dems to pause all business to deal with her drama…twice in 2 months.

Now you sound like the JDL.

Nope. I sound like a pragmatic Dem who wants the focus to be on our top issues and doesn’t like ill conceived and poorly reasoned distractions by members of Congress.

Whereas I find it hard to believe they sent her to Congress to ignore it.

The “Drama” you complain about is the fact that someone in Congress is actually calling bullshit on Israel and its army of lobbyists devoted to damaging US interests as they advance the Israeli government’s criminality.

The number of people whose top issue is propping up a fascist regime may not be as overwhelmingly large as you think it is.

Actually, it is you that is the problem. You and others that think like you do.

Seriously, dude, you’re out of your element. This is my home turf. Do you honestly believe that Keith Ellison didn’t endure the same predictions of his imminent demise year, after year, after year? What do you really think has changed since then?

It appears that it is easier for an Israeli citizen to oppose the policies of the Likud Party than it is for an American citizen to do so. I found this piece on Omar’s issues very enlightening and helpful. (Salon via Raw Story)

Yes, and if she can’t manage it, she may not be re-elected.

We’ll see what happens.

If her record is a disappointment to her voters, we’ll find out soon enough.

Boy, do I have news for you?!

This seems like a convenient lie. Why is TPM’s Nicole Lafond including it?

She said what she said.

What they did in response was entirely their choice, and not one that I admire.

Probably they did say it didn’t go far enough in calling out and condemning the black Muslim, er I mean Rep Omar.

It’s possible TPM is in agreement with the GOP on this one. Maybe not, but it’s definitely a possibility.
