She will cheerfully groom a successor, and teach that person how to be an effective Speaker.
LOL! She’s had more than a decade to do exactly that. And she hasn’t - and won’t. That’s part of the problem. But she is tough, and was far more responsible than Obama in getting the votes for passage of the ACA, even mocking him with his “kiddie care” compromise to HC when Scott Brown won Kennedy’s set. She held the line.
So there’s that but she had best find a way and announce this is her last term as Speaker while maneuvering another and younger woman to replace her in two years. How that happens I have no idea but most of the 35+ new House members want change. She’s in a precarious spot and needs to get creative.
As a black woman, Im all for diversity in leadership. But living in our current “Upside down” land of Stranger Things, I STRONGLY encourage anyone who has never been Speaker of the House before to firmly take a back seat, shut up, strap in and learn something. As jacked up as the state of our nation is right now, the immediate need to reverse all of the ass-hattery of this administration and plus try to get NEW legislation passed,… now is NOT the time for someone new to be cutting their teeth in this role. I luv you, Dem family, but take a page from the Rs and learn how to stick together and let Pelosi do what she does best! (… as I step down from my soap box)

That would be diversity for diversity’s sake and no matter who they elect they will not do better than Pelosi. They can do different but not better. Perhaps these fools should take a look at the roots of Anti-Pelosi’ism and see it’s part of the GOP bucket list. They demonized her they way they did Soros or Gore or HRC. And along come some dumb Dems to take that bait. I know that a a few coming from Right leaning areas are worried about supporting Pelsosi because because of “optics” but that kind of thinking has always hurt the Democrats. It lead to the Blue Dogs and the end of real opposition to the GOP. That allowed the GOP’er 2010 take over of political power and here we are. About to fuck up the first time we got our foot in the door.
Right, because “diversity” makes up for years of effective leadership, expertise and mastery of the subject matter. We should do it just for its own sake and anyone who opposes it should be met with massive resentment and scorn. We don’t need unity behind a proven leader right now. No no. What we really need is some superficial pandering to misguided opinion and, above all, for people of high ambition to climb all over each other in their effort take advantage of what they see as an opportunity for self-advancement.
I do not know how long this woman has been in office; never heard of her until now…she wants to challenge the old war -horse NANCY PELOSI…good luck with that…what the DEMS don’t need , at this time, is some novice taking the leadership…its going to be tough out there…MITCH etal. will love tangling with this woman…they will eat her alive…am getting tired of the ‘diversity’ and victimhood.
