Discussion: Ohio Museum Apologizes For Gunman Figure In Lego Model City

Discussion for article #231663

Well at least Mapplethorpe’s whip wasn’t in the exhibit.

was this the Lego Character?

Hmm, the hair isn’t quite right. To me, that is Conan O’Brian’s hair. An impressive display to say the least.

I don’t know how you would do a voluminous comb over in lego, but that one is just too generous to the Donald. Although it can be taken off and replaced. Just like the Donald’s hair.

What they should be apologizing for is for operating the museum with a skeleton crew. News flash: if you allow people to build their own lego structures in a nearby space, some of them might wander to the exhibition proper. If you don’t want that to happen, you have to position an employee to supervise the exhibit. That level of service to museum guests costs money. Seems like someone figured out the cheaper option would be so end out self-serving and empty apologies in case something bad happened. Free publicity too! I suppose it would be an act of madness to presume that video surveillance of the exhibit might have been considered at any point.

Mayor DeBlasio must be behind this…

Ohio is a right-to-carry state. If the gun-toting Lego mini-figure wasn’t a figure of color, nobody would be upset.
