Discussion for article #231410
If someone did this to one stolen dog, we can bet that they are doing it to other stolen dogs, and passing them off to unsuspecting customers somewhere. Iād hope most pedigree dogs get a chip installed soon after birth, but my bet is that lots of them donāt.
This actually happened to me. Those involved in searching for her (i was in Italy) were closing in on the culprits. They decided to return her (Addie) after getting the phone# from a reward notice. My friend didnāt recognize her, Addie was also much heavier. The friend took them to my neighbor to get verification that it was indeed my dog. When the van door opened in front of my house, she bolted out of van and under the front porch. My friend said, āI think thatās her, let me get the reward check.ā The next thing she heard was the van screaming down the road.
Addie was laying on the front porch sleeping when i returned from Italy, i walked right past her, not recognizing that she was home safe.
just lol
Boy am I glad that itās Monday so that we have the really big stories and headlines. I wish there was as much money and energy spent tracking lost and stolen children. Gradually pets are supplanting children in importance.
Iāve enjoyed TPM for years and years, and Josh is one of the best at what he does. Still, I now find myself steeled for the inevitable articles about water skiing squirrels, Girl Scout cookie sales busted for lack of a permit and the dependable click baitā¦a two-headed frog!!!
What the hell is wrong with people? Itās not like thereās a shortage of dogs. You can get one from a shelter for free.
Hereās what else is on the front page right now:

Question for Prime members: Youāre actually paying for this crap?
Dog, or Easter egg. You decide.
Ya wanna know whoās warring on Xmas? Itās those dognappers.
Well, I have noticed that shelters have become much more thorough in their pre-adoption assessment. Thatās probably a good thing, but itās not as easy as kidnapping if you want an uncomplicated path to pet ownership. But yes, I had the same thought. For goodness sake, there are so many dogs waiting for a good owner.
Iām glad this one is home, but I donāt understand the preponderance of pit bulls in Orange County and nearby areas. They are everywhere.
Has anybody seen a dog dyed dark green.
About two inches tall, with a strawberry blonde fall;
Sunglasses and a bonnet
and designer jeans with appliques on it?
At least the piece about the dog allegedly shooting its owner was on topic.
I passed up all the ugly news stories for this one. OK, shoot me. I just wanted to read something that didnāt involve regular mayhem!
