Look at those faces. They are bewildered and indignant that this is happening to them. They are Cops…how can this be!!! Not Us…we can do what we want!!!
Looks like the mug shots of career criminals to me.
Their eyes are swollen and bloodshot. They look like they’ve been crying. A lot. As well they should. But they probably are a bit bewildered by the fact that when white cops have been in nearly the same situation they’ve gotten cover from their chief and union. There’s almost always a long, slow investigation. Black cops shot a white kid and they’re dealt with exactly opposite of the way they would be if the kid had been black.
The kid was white and the two officers are black. I wonder if that has anything to do with the swift reaction of the local prosecutor.
Hey all the white cops get off for this kind of shit.
Thank you Plucky. I was just about to post something similar. I have been watching the coverage of this and the outrage while definitely warranted, I never see this outrage when white cops kill a black kid. It is so fucking blatant. How anybody can read who these guys are by their pictures is beyond me.
I want to see these guys get away with it just like 99% of white cops get away with killing black people.
Part-time deputies. So, essentially rent-A-cops. Getting involved in a chase and emptying their magazines into a car…over serving a warrant. Brilliant.
Though I hesitate to distract from the racial dimension of how this is unfolding, there are quite a few issues raised here, again, about policing and the sorts of people who are drawn to the career and aren’t weeded out. And I’m speaking of the tough-guy, hothead, playground bully knuckledragging idiots specifically.
I hope they get sent in to gen. pop., and it is made clear to all the other inmates exactly why they are there.
Except they weren’t just part time deputies…
State police said Stafford is a full-time lieutenant with the Marksville Police Department; Greenhouse is a full-time city marshal.
They both appear to work full-time in law enforcement and were moonlighting as part-time deputy marshals. What seems particularly weird, at least to me, is that Greenhouse was apparently a full-time city marshal moonlighting as a part-time deputy marshal.
The two officers arrested fired a total of 18 shots at both father and son.
The coroner said Jeremy was shot five times in the head and chest.
The lives and well being of a police officer is not more precious than the civilians they are sworn to protect. When a person takes the oath of office to protect the lives and property of the people they are given the special authority to use deadly force. With that authority comes the responsibility to use any deadly force with care and restraint.
There are laws that makes killing a policeman automatically a capital crime. There should be equivalent punishments for any sworn officer of the law that misuses their authority and kills anyone when other actions are available to them.
Bad cops should receive the harshest of penalties as a rule; because they are the worst of the criminal class.
I don’t care white or black, cop or victim. MURDER IS MURDER. Period. Full stop.
