Yes, I’m definitely thinking down the road (especially because she’s still six years away from even being eligible). In the meantime I hope she accrues a lot of legislative experience and is welcomed into the official fold of House leadership. (Would also love to see her make a run for Speaker in a few years.)

I guess everybody would benefit from sussing out a new situation but it’s not her fault when people start talking about her coat and so forth. Her style is to answer back with a deadly blast of snark and she’s really, really good at it. If she needs to tone it down anywhere she’ll probably figure that out.

She hits back. She has been owning Fox News and a lot of conservative personalities. I’m not a fan of hers when she’s doing foolish things like campaigning against Sharice Davids (whom she seems to have reconciled with) but I do like her when she hits Republicans and in particular the conservative machine. We saw a glimpse of what millennials could do to the far right when the Parkland kids owned the NRA. She’s doing it to the heart of the GOP’s noise machine.
She represents generational change. The real Middle America looks a bit more like her than it does like the conservative, rural white voter that is the obsession of the NYT political desk. She could really help the party finally break that machine the way the Parkland kids softened up the NRA.

I don’t necessarily agree. The Democrats need some firebrands in the media. If she stays good with her constituents she has one of the safest seats. I predict she will be reelected easily. She can draw fire from the right and they can’t touch her. What is the downside?

Way too much face time for a first term congresswoman. Huckabee is a horse’s backside but replying to every dumb statement he and others make is a full time job. Ms.Ocasio is not a symbol and even though the media is trying to up her profile she should resist and get on to the hard work of representing her district which is next to mine and learning the business of legislating.
