Discussion for article #226071
The country should not be forced to stand still in the face of pressing issues because the Republican Party is committed to placating a base that does not like the Presidentâs skin color.
Iâve said it before and Iâll say it again, heâs the Jackie Robinson of politics.
And I certainly donât agree with him on a great many issues but that doesnât mean I donât admire him.
He just keeps going, despite their unprecidented roadblocks.
Thank you, Mr. President.
God knows SOMEBODY has to govern.
Before long as this President creeps this country forward inch by inch, we may have to pay for a whole bunch of exorcisms for house gop members when the vacation is over. You know they will be coming back with there heads spinning off or shoved up each others butts. Anyway, they are going to need help. lol
Do what you gotta do Sir,you know whatâs up.
âIn the face of that kind of dysfunction, what I can do is scour our authorities to try to make progress,â he said.
(yawn)
Well, he has lots of precedent set by Rayguns and Shrub to stand on. Maybe GOTPers should not have been overjoyed so much when their folk heroes made recess appointments and stretched their executive powers. Guess they thought theyâd be in the Oval Office until the Rapture came for them.
Anyone recall the little gift to the U.N Shrub sent while Congress was in recess?
Some fool by the name of John Bolton?
Why donât I have a colorable damage claim for the cost of GOP intransigence? Obama must act without these clowns and the public needs to give him support. Itâs easier to succumb to the talk radio narrative than to be an adult and stop this shit at the polls. How can electoral majorities support these clowns?
Hear, Hear!!

But, but, people on facebook keep telling me heâs a tyrant who does stuff heâs not allowed to do! Who should I believe???
sigh
I so do not envy this man.
The people on Facebook will also tell you that migrant children are bringing Ebola into this country, and pretty soon theyâll make the leap to the factoid that the president brought Ebola in when he came here from Kenya. I also donât envy him, itâs not what he signed up for.
What are the issues you donât agree on? Iâd really like, for once, to hear more about this. It is absolutely standard rhetoric regarding this president, and it is almost never detailed.
Come on, give us a list!
2010 and consequent redistricting, voter indifference in non-Presidential election years, hate media and dark money turning up such candidates and turning out zealous voters.
As far as corporate âinversionâ is concerned: I say, let them go. Then take away their âcitizenshipâ and consider them foreigners. If we cannot tax them, then they can no longer get tax subsidies from us, or exploit our loopholes.
And THEN! they wonât be permitted to spend one dime to influence our elections.
Send them off and good riddance!
If such words came out of Reaganâs mouth, the GOP would be swooning about âLeadership.â Tomorrow, its barking dogs will be yip-yip-yipping about âtreasonâ and âtyranny.â
imagine if he had said, I will be like the GOP and do nothing about any pressing issueâŚhe would go from imperial dictator to do nothing president in the blink of an eye.
Bachmann specifically said several years ago that it may not have been just coincidence that the H1N1 virus had appeared in the US after President Obama returned from a state visit to Mexico.
