Ryan: We plan to do this every day. Its likely Obama will forget to veto one of these days and then Obamacare will no longer be the scourge of our society.
Lepage: That will work. Tell me about it:

. But Republicans claimed victory with the vote, arguing that they met two goals by finally passing a repeal bill: keeping a promise to voters in an election year, and showing that they are capable of repealing the law if a Republican wins November’s presidential election.

Lol. They must think their base is constituted by a bunch of suckers that would fall for such meaningless grandstanding.

I also dispute their second point regarding repealing the law if they win in November. Because that means they’d actually have to govern, and if they repeal, would actually need to have a plan ready to go. I see no evidence they’re capable of this.

OK, they “claim victory”. Does that mean that they are finally going to let it go and move on? After all, what is left for them to do if they’ve had their victory? I can’t wait to see how they try to parse that one. “Well, yes, we won. But we still have to keep fighting because we haven’t actually won. But we’re going to win so keep voting for us. Because we won.”

I had to think about that one for about two seconds before I laughed! Good one!

“…showing that they are capable of repealing the law if a Republican wins November’s presidential election”

But they won’t because the are UNABLE to come up with a replacement.

Republicans claimed victory with the vote

In much the same way that Nixon claimed victory when he withdrew from Vietnam.

Ocare Replacement: Bush Years. People were so happy then; without insurance, just walk into any hospital ER of your choice. Those were the days when we had a true single payer system.

Claiming victory without actually doing anything is all the GOP is good at. See George Bush c. 2003 “Mission Accomplished”. The phrase all hat no cattle still rings true to this day with the GOP.

GOTP believes its voters are not just suckers, but stupid. Why not just hang Mission Accomplished banners at the RCCC? Now that they fantasy-defunded Obamacare and Planned Parenthood, maybe they will fantasy-outlaw abortion and fantasy-eliminate Social Security.

A pyrrhic victory still a victory – to Fox impaired voters.

So another fail chaz koch can whine in his champagne about.

Of course, the recent incident in Florida where the woman died in the hospital parking lot after the ER staff had the police remove her (because she had no insurance) pretty well debunks that theory.
