Discussion for article #242080
We are all focused on the Benghazi testimony, so this may not get much attention . . . but heh, heh, heh. The ball is in your court, Rs.
The GOP House members who are not watching the Benghazi hearings with horror, are seeing this with horror. They never imagined the President would call their bluff.
The President should demand that the Benghazi! select committee be defunded, or he will shut down the government.
Or that Tea Partiers have to play a game of leap frog on the White House front lawn before he signs a budget.
Keep the pen handy.
Did the GOP think he was not being real when he said he would veto this?
Obama: “Would you like fries with your bag of dicks?”
Obama To GOP: I’ll Veto Your Defense Bill Unless It Closes Gitmo and Stops Giveaways To Military Contractors
President Obama has made a defiant stand on behalf of the American people, and for that, we applaud him.
Bag of dicks? And here I thought he didn’t give any fucks.
Obama also rejects the bill as written due to provisions making it harder for him to transfer suspected terror detainees out of the military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, a key campaign promise that Obama is hard-pressed to fulfill before his term ends.
He should empty Guantanamo Bay during his last couple of months in the White House, no matter what he has to do to accomplish that. They can’t impeach a private citizen.
And for this we love him!!
Thank you Mr. President!
Obama praised the bill for ensuring the military stays funded and making improvements on military retirement and cybersecurity.
We could do with a lot less military funding and a lot more funding of things that actually help people. Of course, Republicans hate people, so military funding is what we get.
PS I expect to receive an email message from my Senator, Orrin Hatch, later today, in which he explains to me how much President Obama hates the military.
If turkeyneck McDonnell is mad then he is doing the right thing.
Geez, look how young he looks in that picture.
He’s all growed up now.
“This is the worst possible time for an American president to veto their national defense bill, and especially to do so for arbitrary partisan reasons,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on the Senate floor.
And this is the worst possible time for the Repubs to try President Obama. Or haven’t they noticed?
Remember, the “defense bill” is really a jobs program. They really don’t care that much about the military or vets as long as their favorite contractors get funded. They fix this, tuck their tail, and send it in again. Too bad O didn’t take this approach in 2012.
Why b/c $38.3 billion handout to the defense industry complex.
Cool way to say go F yourselves repukes. Love BHO!
I think the offer he’s making with the bag of dicks is “feel free to go fuck yourselves.”
