Vote, dammit, and make sure everyone has the opportunity to do so!
Well, he didn’t say dammit. But he wanted to.
We can’t have Trump after this man.
We just can’t.
Goodbye Mr. President.
I just watched the whole thing
From this
To a money grubbing Pussy Grabbing miscreant.
I am beside myself with grief.
President Obama’s tribute to Michelle and his daughters was so heartfelt. His daughter Malia was wiping away tears, one assumes out of pride and love. This was such a decent family who were sadly subject to so much derision. But the President’s message tonight is one of hope, and I will do my best to feel that.
We watched on MSNBC.
Are you kidding me?
MSNBC covered it
Obama’s final speech as our beloved President has literally been pissed on.
How so?
I hear you…
I cried all the way through it…for myself and for my country. It’s time to SHAKE IT OFF and get to work!!! We can do it!!!
We have to. He didn’t give up in the face of unbelievable adversity and we can’t either
That’s the stuff. Honest to God, I’ve really looked to Barack as a leader these past eight years, and if it’s one thing I know it’s that he wouldn’t want me to throw myself on the ground crying. Get involved, he’d say. Work to make it better. So I will. It’s the only sane thing to do when you’re looking at a setback. Dust yourself off and get back to work.
Let us all make a vow to do that Matt. He never gave up and we can’t either
Damn Straight! His speech gave us a blue print of what to do…
Keeping this momentum isn’t going to be easy but we have to try as hard as we can.
I posted a part of the speech on a different thread…that gives us words to follow. It was so powerful…so here it is again:
Ultimately, that’s what our democracy demands. It needs you. Not just when there’s an election, not just when your own narrow interest is at stake, but over the full span of a lifetime. If you’re tired of arguing with strangers on the internet, try to talk with one in real life. If something needs fixing, lace up your shoes and do some organizing. If you’re disappointed by your elected officials, grab a clipboard, get some signatures, and run for office yourself. Show up. Dive in. Persevere. Sometimes you’ll win. Sometimes you’ll lose. Presuming a reservoir of goodness in others can be a risk, and there will be times when the process disappoints you. But for those of us fortunate enough to have been a part of this work, to see it up close, let me tell you, it can energize and inspire. And more often than not, your faith in America – and in Americans – will be confirmed.
Damn, but I am going to miss this guy. One of the very best Presidents in my long lifetime. And just to stress it by contrast, he’s being followed by a multi-ton horseshit fire in a brass-plated dTRUMPster!
