Discussion: Obama To Visit Louisiana Next Week Amidst Severe Flooding

and now the wingnuts bashing him this week for not going, will bash him next week for going.

Itā€™s always heads they win, tails Obama loses.

And all this hair-on-fire shit will be for nothing.
The people that complained will still find something to complain about.

But by next week no one will really remember what all the outrage was about. Or care.

ETA: Itā€™s as if Pres. Obama waits and watches the right wingers go into a fucking frenzy. Then calmly steps in, looking sane and reasonable, making them look stupid.

Small note to the author.

Josh Earnest has a gender, and we know what it isā€”therefore he is a spokesman for the administration, not a spokesperson ( a word that doesnā€™t really exist except in the minds of the terminally politically correct.)

Iā€™m sure CNN will have this photo handy when they empanel 4 people to extoll to the world what an imperius, uncaring President Obama is for not shoveling mud out of peopleā€™s basements as we speak.

The governor already said, or the president to give them 10-14 days before he come down. Here is the video o the news conference and his interview on the Maddow show:

Theyā€™re on it as we speak . . . already setting up the narrative that the President would never have gone to Louisiana if Donald Trump hadnā€™t ā€œshamed himā€ (CNNā€™s words) into it.

How dare he go down there and get in the way of these American heroes for a photo op!

Fricking intro speaker is in Lansing, home of the Michigan State Spartans, and he tries to enlist the crowd in a ā€œMichiganā€ chant after saying theyā€™re great sport fans. People are like ā€œWTF?ā€

Trump at podium. OMG, every single place he goes the FIRST thing out of his mouth is the crowd has set a record for that venue.

Factory work is coming back to America.

Bragging about Louisiana flood tour. ā€œObama ought to get off the golf course and go down thereā€

No more jobs are leaving America.

Elect Trump and millions of high paying jobs will return.

The nationā€™s infrastructure will be replaced.

Families on welfare will be provided jobs.

Children will go to the school of their choice.

We will build the wall!! (Cheers!!! Chants of build that wall, rising, getting louder)

Law and order will be restored

American values and culture will be cherished and celebrated again. (YOU WILL SAY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!)

No group in America has been hurt more in American history than by Hillary Clinton

I am an enthusiastic supporter of the president, but he really blew this. And it came at a very bad time. If it made sense for him not to go to Louisiana for two weeks after the flooding occurred, he should have been on TV with the FEMA Director and Governor Edwards days ago laying out the strategy and explaing how important it was for the politicians to stay away so FEMA could do its job. He is playing catch-up now-- and to one of the most loathsome people ever to get close to the presidency. Iā€™m not happy about it, and I donā€™t think TPMers shpuld be giving him a pass.

Loud chants of ā€œLock her up!!ā€

ā€œAt the end of four years I guarantee Iā€™ll get 95% of the African-American votes. I guarantee it!!ā€

Hillaryā€™s policies are taking jobs away from African-American workers.

Mexico is taking our jobs.

Man, heā€™s hammering this African-American theme HARD.

If heā€™s spoken the phrase ā€œAfrican-Americanā€ 5 times heā€™s spoken it 20. Itā€™s gotten weird.

Heckuva job, Donnie: Trump tours flooded Louisiana, in spite of governorā€™s ā€˜photo opā€™ admonishment

Well, perhaps you should co-sign Rudy Giulianiā€™s sternly worded statement attacking Gov. Edwards and President Obama.

I on the other hand have no fucks to give.

Edit. Giuliani also takes the opportunity, in the middle of his diatribe, to hawk his book. So, in actuality my fucks to give can be quantified as a negative number of indeterminate magnitude. Or maybe, i, the square root of -1.

And speaking of photo ops in the midst of devastating Louisiana floodsā€¦

Almost a third of the stateā€™s Republicans blame President Obama for Hurricane Katrina.
Only 28% blame President Bush.
The rest donā€™t know whom to blame.

Can anyone explain how thatā€™s even possible?

Do Louisiana Republicans deliberately feed lead-paint chips to their children?
Does the stateā€™s entire GOP population live under power lines or in 24/7 exposure to gasoline fumes?
Is the Duck Dynasty clan so big that it comprises the majority of registered Republicans?

Iā€™m at a total loss how anyone with an undamaged brain stem can even think thatā€¦

Did you see the statement? He said he specifically worked with his disaster team and Gov. Edwards to determine the best time to go to LA. He ceded to the wishes of the Gov and I canā€™t fault him for that.

I wouldnā€™t be giving the President a pass if he didnā€™t sign the FEMA orders within hours of receiving it.

Iā€™ll take a stab at a hypothesis ā€“ an intractably poor educational system, long-term, institutionalized ignorance and racism and too many corn dogs.
